Mesa Garden

I ordered cactus seeds online from Mesa Garden last week, and was pleasantly surprised to get them just a few days later even though I expected shipping delays due to the pandemic. Even better, the germination for the seeds is great! Just four days after planting my seeds, I’ve gotten 9 out of 15 species to germinate so far and have plenty of seeds left over in case I need to try re-growing. I am impressed and will definitely order again!

Negative experience and big disappointment. Given the great reputation of the company and the old management, I wanted to try to buy from them, but the results were bad, not fresh seeds! few births besides being too expensive with the price of seeds

Nothing but amazing experiences from me. Beautiful plants at amazing prices. I also have a few trays of cactus seeds that have germinated at a pretty high rate from mesa!

This company used to be the best source in the world for cactus and succulent seeds, and the only complaint ever heard in the past was that the turnaround time on orders was slow. One got used to this and planned ahead with orders. Under new management/ownership since 2017, the delays have persisted and a number of additional problems have surfaced. See extensive review by 'kramerica' at Dave's Garden website for a summary of recent problems with this company. Most egregiously, the company has started shortchanging on the number of seeds in a packet. Case in point, it seemed that my recent order of succulent seeds (packets of 100 seeds) was a bit light so I decided to actually count the seeds in each packet. Out of 17 seed packets counted, the average number of seeds per packet was 73 (range 42-107). In contrast, I have been buying seeds from this company for >30 years and while I never counted seeds in the past, I also never felt compelled to do so because it never seemed like I was being ripped off. The previous owners were truly upstanding people to be admired for their knowledge, dedication and honesty. These new owners have sauntered in, made several bad business decisions, and are now taking advantage of the company's good name and reputation. Loyal customers have moved to other seed vendors and it is a shame to see what has happened to this once fine company.
