Such a terrific place for young musicians to play, have fun, & meet new people. My child was not one to practice, but once they saw other kids their age progressing & performing difficult pieces they really stepped up so I don't have to harp on them at all!!

My kid likes to rib me whenever she hears a Dad Joke. "Dad joke!" she yells before throwing up the hand and saying, "No, no more, dad. They're not funny." As much as she's right, she has no idea how common my Dad Reviews are, these days. I got Dad Reviews on the daily. Case in point, this lil' ditty about AYSP.This organization has been one of several Covid salvations for a kid who gave up her play dates in March of 2020. We needed to give the kid safe, engaging activities, and thanks to her dedication to the cello, AYSP was a perfect fit. They've held in-person rehearsals, indoors, when transmission levels have been low-ish during the pandemic; they reopened about a month ago. The facility installed HEPA filters throughout, and students are masked and distanced at all times. That said, we have witnessed at least one staff member flouting the policy, and that's made us, well, weary. We'll address that issue ourselves, the next time we visit. Otherwise, here's my Dad Review fair warning, parents: If you enroll your kid here, you will be snapped up as a volunteer, which is super rewarding, and also a ton of work when, come the holidays, they host their annual luminaria drive and you, dear volunteer, have the distinct pleasure of folding hundreds of brown paper bags.
