This place is great. Been coming here since i was very young with my family. I'm 40 now and still make it a regular stop. Nothing has ever changed. The food, the decor, everything is pretty much the same. And that's a good thing, because its all perfect. I have made my way through the menu and its all good. The prices are so low I wonder how they make money sometimes. If you enjoy honest food give Murphy's a try. It may not be sparkling clean and the decor may be older than the server bringing you your manhole-cover sized chicken fried steak, by that's just part of what makes this place awesome.

The food was ok (I had AYCE fish and fries) but nothing to get excited about. The service was terrible. Waitress spilled one of the salads just as she got to the table then didn't replace it until we were ready to leave. Fries arrived cold with hot fish but nothing was done even after we mentioned it several times. She never refilled our water glasses (and we drink a lot of water!). We had to get our own condiments. Just wasn't worth the time or the money.

The only reason for even 1 star is the service - at least at first. I ordered the chicken fried steak that they're supposedly known for. The food was absolutely disgusting and I seriously can't believe how many reviews say it's amazing. First and last time eating there. The chile was good which I poured over top of scrambled eggs and their "home fries". The potatoes were dry as if they had been reheated in a microwave. The cfs didn't even taste like cfs. It was soggy and there was pinkish-red stuff in the "breading". The gravy couldn't even cover up the old, dirty grill taste bc it had no flavor. My toast had the same disgusting grill flavor. We sent back the cfs and ordered a piece of ham instead which also had the disgusting grill taste. Apparently they were out of bacon, but I would imagine it would've been just as gross. My water wasn't refilled once in the hour I was there and I wasn't even asked if I wanted more coffee until well after we were done eating. This was literally the worst food I have ever had in my life. I never give reviews, but after reading all the previous reviews the truth had to be told.
