I was very pleased with Sara’s expertise with Swedish & Deep Tissue massage. She definitely kept the communication open about my preferred pressure levels in different areas of the body. I have had massage treatments for years with many different practitioners and I highly recommend Sara.

I thought I'd give Sara a try since her business is literally 1 minute from my house. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience from the start. Couldn't even find her location because the building notations jump from B to G (she's in F) with no clear indication of where to find her business. I was frustrated with the lack of communication about that beforehand. A notation in the confirmation email would have been simple enough. And when I mentioned the door that we need to go through looks like it's for State Farm....because that's what it says on the window....she said sarcastically, "I guess" and chuckled. Not a good start. Communication about pressure needs to be much better and much sooner in the session. Maybe ask right away instead of waiting for me to jump or wince? And maybe start with reasonable pressure and then move to more intense after communicating preferences. Even when I communicated I needed lighter pressure, it was sporadic throughout the session so I was tense the whole time. On her site she seems to brag about how hard her pressure is, but it's nothing to brag about. You can injure someone using unnecessary pressure. Hers is to a point where it's not relaxing at all. It feels like she robotically applies pressure instead of paying attention to the client. A few times she was doing pressure point work on knots in my back. I was laughing in my head because the knots were probably from her unnecessary pressure in the first place. That's what it felt like anyway. Before we started I mentioned I didn't want the session to focus only on my lower back, even though I made the appointment because of my lower back problems. For some reason she seemed to completely avoid the lower back. I'm still puzzled. If it was a time issue, maybe she could have foregone rubbing my head and face (that was weird) and instead focused on the areas that I mentioned ahead of time and that have more of an affect on my livelihood? Overall, the issues and her attitude feel like a lack of experience and maturity. I've been to many great massage therapists throughout the years and there are some great ones. I believe experience made them great. I'm certain Sara will get there if she's willing to take constructive feedback and improve her customer service skills as well as her communication. Those things will make or break us in life, not just in business. All in all, it's a "one and done" experience with Sara. I left there with my lower back hurting more than it was when I arrived, tension in my shoulders and generally irritated and disappointed that I wasted my time and money. I wish her the best in her growth as a massage therapist and business owner.
