As a trucker on the road in Albuquerque, I had a blowout. Not a tire or a hydraulic line but a work boot blow out... Even worse! I needed the soles of my beloved size 15 Red Wings repaired so I hopped onto Yelp and discovered this place. It's a funky, old time shoe repair joint inhabited by this cool guy that only accepts cash or personal checks. I was only in town for a few days and asked him to put the scoot on my boot repair and he did it with a smile. He stitched the thick, dense oil resistant soles back onto my 'wings in only a day. The fee was $75 which may sound heavy at first but could you imagine having to stitch boots like this? His craftsmanship was excellent, his service was first class, and he seems to be a really nice guy who is well liked in his neighborhood located just off of the UNM campus. I love supporting local businesses like this and would be happy to go back if I have another blowout in this part of the country.
