Focused Recovery of New Mexico

I would highly recommend Focus Recovery to anyone seeking counseling for a variety of issues. I am seeing progress, which is hugely encouraging. All the staff has been great! Jenn is amazing! She is always responsive and has amazing insights and input. Her approach to counseling/therapy challenges me to step outside of my comfort zone enough to grow and manage everything in a healthy way. With Jenn, I see progress and I know she cares! Suzanne has been a very positive experience. She is kind, honest, and so helpful with breaking down the reasons for why you might be feeling a certain way. I feel like we are like minded have similar ideas and I feel like I have support with decisions and struggles of how to approach things.

The one star is just for the system that Focus Recovery has to offer. My councilor CALLI had me fooled with her poker face/neutral personality, at one point I was happy think that another female accepted me -although i'm truly kindhearted and mean well to everyone I meet I've always had issues with females not liking me since Jr high. Anyways my troubles with this facility began when my teens graduations started this year and being the only biological parent in my kids life I was not gonna miss it, but that meant I was gonna miss 2 days out of my group meeting with FR, I'm trying to make this as breif Calli approched me in the most unprofessional way in front of everyone in my group session that last time I saw her and she said to me liken if i was a nobody "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?? YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO BE HERE!"- first of all not her staff OR her self bothered calling me to notify not to show up for group or that I was even being punished ( their punishments consists of pulling you from group like a little kid introuble and having one on one sessions with you untill she feels good enough to go back to her class) she humiliated me 2xs and she got away with it the first time cuz I HAD respect for her and didnt want to undermind her authority but the second time (which was a week later) I waited for her to finish making her mistake of speaking to me in her degrading way infront of everyone once again and thats when I spoke and defended my self from the person who I trusted and let my gaurd down for so that she could help I would of never imagined that to happen to me especially at my first and LAST rehab place. Long storey shortened more 3 weeks went by & still didn't hear from Calli ( like she said she would call me ) or her staff and to add to this bad expieriance I needed to be heard so that people after me would not go through the same thing I contacted Turning Point who is the corporate for Focus Recovery and I was dirrected to Paul who is the main dirrector for both facilities he made contact with me at first and seem to care about fixing what i was going through but I was again let down when he said he would call me the next day (which i work night audit for the Hiltons so i made the extra effort to wake up for his call) ... AND HE NEVER CALLED at that point I didn't bother them anymore I knew I had to find another councilling method and I thank God I did with Raven's Councilling- i forgot to mention the reason why i was very thankful i found my new method of councilling and that was because my P.O. wasn't trying to hear all the extra BS i was going through at FR he just said 'you have untill the end of the month (which was only 4 days left ) -to find a new councilling method and this made me uneased and added lots more stress because my freedom was online and Focus Recovery and my councillor CALLI is aware of parollies consequences! All I gotta say now is Good luck guys and thank you guys for YOUR MISTAKES because i'm NOW in TRUELY GOOD HANDS where I know for a fact I can put my guard down and work on my self. KEEP IN MIND GUYS I WAS CLEAN BEFORE AND AFTER FOCUS RECOVERY AND WAS DETERMIND TO CHANGE MY LIFE BUT THERE'S OTHER POOR SOULS THAT REALLY NEED THE HELP & ATTENTION AND IF IT WAS THEM GOING THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH AT FOCUS RECOVERY THEY WOULD OF QUICKLY FALLEN BACK INTO THEIR BAD HABIT(s) BUT GUYS DONT THINK FOR ONCE THAT THERE'S NO SOLUTION JUST GET ONLINE AND KEEP LOOKING, JUST LIKE ME YOU'LL FIND A PLACE AND COUNCILLOR LIKE I DID. And Calli I do hope you read this so that you know where you went wrong and hope that you correct your self SO THAT YOU CAN BE A GOOD COUNCILOR. GOD B
