The experience started off well. The waitress was nice and friendly. We ordered drinks and it took longer than it should have for the drinks to be served being that there was less than a handful of people in the place but no biggie, we weren’t in a rush. We ordered our appetizers and meals to which they came out as ordered and yummy. All of our meals were delicious except for the mashed potatoes (tasted like instant potatoes). The soda bread was warm and phenomenal. Then it came time for a little nightcap and my Mom ordered an Irish coffee. Backstory: my Mom has been making her own Irish coffees for years and knows when something isn’t right. The waitress brings out the Irish coffee. A clear glass mug with coffee and curdled chunks. The waitress tried telling my mom that it looks curdled but it’s not and that it was because of the brown sugar (also my mom makes hers with brown sugar and has never made me a curdled drink.) One look at the drink and my mom politely declined the drink and said it’s curdled. The waitress continued to support her position that it was not curdled and became upset when my mom again declined the drink. So instead of politely taking the drink and walking away or attempting to make her a fresh one, she stormed away stating “she doesn’t want it†very loudly then stated “she doesn’t think i know what I’m talking about.†Well at that point I about lost my cool but I decided to not make a scene. The waitress was making enough of her own scene behind the bar. We paid our bill and left. We enjoyed our food but trying to serve my mom a curdled drink then making a scene about it was unacceptable. In my line of work, if i spoke to someone in that tone I’d be disciplined and possibly lose my job. Good luck if you decide to go to this place.
