Kites - An American Grille

Total disappointment. Paid $100 bucks for two steaks no drinks. filet mignon And a rib eye. The steaks were of low quality, tasted ok but dry and a little on the tougher side. Atmosphere was that of a Friday’s or an outback. Had better steak at Applebee’s. Should have known better when we ran into the Sous-chef and she told us to stay away from the salmon cause they were having trouble with it. Took my wife here for our anniversary… just glad it wasn’t our first date!!! Place is definitely over priced for what you get, was worth 40-50 bucks to be completely honest. And the wait staff are in teeshirts and aprons…

Had dinner here. Was not impressed. Service was great, food not so much. My husband and I had steaks. Not an upscale restaurant at all. Ambiance was not exciting. Steaks were either old or not a good grade of meat. Disappointing. I think outback has better steaks.

Tonight we'll get sandwiches from the to go cafe . I have nothing nice to say about Kites, so I will only suggest, don't waste your $

Decor is dated, service lazy, and food is terrible. Really disappointing.

Fairly awful. Doesn't compare to the rest of the restaurants in the Crystal Springs resort repertoire. Bad decor, bad food, bad service. Stale accompaniments. Char flavor on anything from the grill (indicating it needs to be cleaned or the flame is too high). Greasy fried foods. Soups served tepid, clearly in the danger zone. Butter with fridge taste (in addition to honey and lavender). I watched the bartender teaching one of the servers how to juggle citrus fruit. Servers clustered in the pass. Our server was indifferent to criticism and actually walked away in the middle of providing him feedback. The whole place looks like a Denny's with the bare wood tables, turned back chairs and indistinguishable but vague 80s industrial decor. Crystal Springs is building an impressive resume with their food offerings at Grand Cascade. They should beware this eyesore tarnishing their growing reputation. Stay away.
