This is just an observation that Francois keeps changing companies and/or employers. I too hired Francois, he presented himself as a 'partner' in New Jersey Reliable Construction. It was obvious after a very short time into the project that Francois did not have a grasp for our construction project. Yes promises and lies were constant. STAY away from him

A-1 remodeling run by Mr. F. Hernandez is a company who will take your money and will not do the work. Empty promises can be made. Late last year, I bought a deal from A-1 using Angie's List for 40 hours of labor. Before purchasing, I had confirmed that work will be done in April 2017. Come March, try to schedule an appointment for April work, no response to text, emails, voice mails. Finally one day he shows up and promises to email me a list of supplies needed to do the work. I have yet to receive anything except, "I am sorry. Personally I am going thru hard times and will refund the money..... yada yada yada" After setting a deadline, I am left with nothing but a sour taste as I believed in him and in his stories. Long story short, I will be filing a complaint with BBB and small claims court as he is interested in taking the money and not doing the work. If someone wants to do something right, has a character and a will to do the right thing, six months is a long time to do it and he has failed.

A1 Remodeling owned and operated by Francois Hernandez is a legit joke. He comes off as knowing his stuff but I should have known better. He doesnÂ’t pick up his phone and you can't leave a voice mail because his inbox is always full. He lies and will steal your money. He still owes me money. He does not pay his crews which is why we had two of them. The first crew was horrible and the second was honestly the best thing out of this whole thing they were awesome its a shame they walked off all because he did not pay them. Francois will even lie to you and say that he has the permit for your project when in reality he never even paid for it and is smart enough to go to the town hall and try to get one with a expired contractors license. Luckily for me I know the mayor and kept me informed and did not let him have the permit. Just a few examples of what has happened. I have contacted the BBB and submitted a claim and I will not stop until my wife and I are paid back. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE COMPANY THEY ARE HORRIBLE. If you want to choose A-1 Remodeling for any project on your home, you should have your lawyer ready. We did a lot of research and thought we were picking a reputable contractor but we were incredibly wrong. We wanted French doors installed and new vinyl siding on our home, not a large undertaking for a company who claims to build homes etc. After 6+ weeks, we have a partially installed door and a plywood house. The first team working on our home was replaced after we found out they were never compensated by the company for their work, so they left the job site. The second crew came in but have since ceased work due to the company not providing the materials necessary to do the job. (Note: The workers are competent individuals who do good work and fortunately we have their information to contact them outside of A1 and I can't blame them for leaving the job site for lack of compensation and no materials to work with.) After 6+ weeks, and lie after lie, we found out the siding for our home was NEVER ordered. Our contract was entered on 2/21 with completion date of 4/13 however it's now 4/18 and NOTHING has been completed nor were the materials ordered. The owner claims the company has fallen on hard times and to please "understand". We have been more than understanding in this situation and the down payment on our contact would have been MORE than enough to cover the labor and materials for our project. Our money was obviously spent elsewhere.... The owner cannot furnish any receipts for the materials and makes excuses for everything. PLEASE please save yourselves the trouble of working with a company like this. Criminal complaints have been filed against A-1 Remodeling and our lawyer has taken the case. We will be finding a different company to come in to finish the job.
