Grave plates missing, no one answers the phone, it’s no way to leave a message or email so someone can respond to messages. Yet if you go to the cemetery, ground work has been done. There are people looking for family members and request to have tombstones delivered. How is that possible without speaking to someone? The worse !

Folks, if you are writing negative reviews I understand, but it is a nearly abandoned cemetery. They have like two workers for the property. I suggest contacting St. Joseph Church and Cemetery as they at least used to partially run that lot. Maybe they can assist you.

If I could have left less than one * I rightly would have given the following experience. There appears to be something terribly wrong at Riverside Cemetery in terms of shamelessly dysfunctional to non-existent customer service being provided by its office to the public and prospective clients. In recent days in mid-September 2020, I sadly placed no less than 4 telephone calls to the office of this cemetery - for the sole purpose of obtaining -- the precise location of my father's gravesite. On all of these occasions, the gentleman purportedly running the office answered the phone, took down the information as to the spelling of his my father's name, and my contact name and telephone number, he on each occasion promising to return my call in "just several minutes" time. At no time, did the representative ever, in fact, return my calls. Fortunately, in my frustration, I thankfully was able to recall the name of the Toms River, NJ, funeral home which handled my father's funeral arrangements. When I explained to her my experience in dealing with Riverside Cemetery, the woman who answered the telephone asked for the spelling of my late father's name, and within but seconds, was able to provide me with the precise grave location. Upon hearing this, I re-telephoned the Riverside Cemetery rep and advised him accordingly. How a cemetery can continue to supposedly be in business when it cannot provide consumers with the most basic information, down to supposedly - not knowing who is buried where -- and timely responding accurately to such family member requests is nothing less than scandalously mind boggling in the State of New Jersey in the year 2020.
