I am 51 years old and a spinal cord injury has left me unable to care for myself. My insurance Medicaid and Medicare pay for me to be here and I couldn't survive on my social security disability so I am kind of stuck. I am very happy with the people that actually do the housekeeping, food, nursing services but the management is always lacking. The heads of these services housekeeping management and maintenance have no communication and do not teach any of their employees about resident rights or even human rights. Most of the beautiful capable employees don't need that but there are always some. All of these services are taught that their jobs are more important than the people. They just walk in your room. Even use their keys to unlock my door. The whole place is set up for these jobs and not at all for the residents. They never have enough help so they can never quite do the jobs they need to do. They make rules they cannot possibly make and then use fear to get obedience. They lie to the elderly residents here. I attended a resident counsel meeting where the whole body of people asked for music in the dining room and were told yes they would have music. Cheers all around. So there was music during lunch. When I asked why there was no music during dinner. I was told it's because of covid. When I said then why did you promise the people there would be music? She looked me right in the eye and told me I didn't promise them music at dinner. That decision is made because it's too difficult to run the music during dinner because there is nobody here after 4:00. Because we all know how difficult it is to set a timer on a music program on a computer. Again something she was fully aware when she made the promise. I feel sorry for the others.
