I called D.J.'s Roto-Rooter for an assumed emergency sewer back-up into our basement on Sunday. I spoke to Tim immediately and he met me at my office in 20 minutes. Tim and his trainee Joe quickly identified the cause of the water in my basement (which was not a sewer back-up as originally assumed, but rather an A/C condenser line break). Tim charged for the response time only, which was very much appreciated. I would not hesitate to call Roto-Rooter of Central New Jersey again. I have always had excellent expedient service, very friendly and understanding staff members, and the price does not break your wallet for the nature of the work. Most calls are emergent and they are always there for you when you need them. Thank you D.J., Tim and Joe (little)

We needed a plumber on a Sunday due to a leak under our sink of the shut-off valve. They charge $75 to come out and that is not deducted from your final bill. I would advise asking what the cost of the repair is upfront, before you have someone come to your home. When the plumber was about to replace both shutoff valves, we were given a quote of $300 for the repair that is in addition to the $75 fee. When questioned, the tech stated he just looks up the job on his computer and it gives him the fee to charge the customer. We were shocked by this price considering the low cost of shut off valves in general. I spoke with a manager and he agreed to reduce the cost by $50 by using coupons. I stated to the supervisor that what they are charging for this job, even with the coupon discount, is outrageous and he stated that that is the best he could do on price. Since it was a leak and on a weekend, we had no choice but to agree to the repair. We will never call this company for future repairs.
