Ive worked in early childhood education for 20 years. So deciding where to send my daughter to school was an important decision . When we went on our tour of MMA I was blown away by the beautiful classroom design, the love and care of the staff , the attention to detail that Montessori believes in that shined in every aspect of the school and every childs smiling face we saw along the way . My daughters first year of school has been a dream come true . She has developed such important skills beyond the alphabet and numbers. Her confidence and love of herself , her friends , her teachers , and the world around her are all a wonderful foundation for her life of learning . I have had the privilege to work in many schools over my career. Ive never experienced anything like what MMA has to offer children and their families . Each childs unique abilities are given the space to shine. We have found our home and community here .

We transferred our kids into MMA at the beginning of COVID and it was THE BEST decision we ever made. Our kids have been thriving since the first moment they walked into this school. They are internally motivated to learn and look forward to going to school EVERY SINGLE DAY. MMA is aligned with our values and has become our extended family and our kids home away from home.

Absolutely delightful and genuine Montessori environment for children, my son loved going to MMA. The owner is wonderful and ensures everyone is well taken care of- students like staff. The school itself is beautiful and well maintained. If you are looking for a community-like environment and you have the chance to live close enough to this school, you have found a gem! My advice is get on their wait-list asap! My son learned so much in ways I couldn't have imagined..so grateful I was able to give him this type of opportunity I've never had myself as a child. It truly felt like winning the lottery as *everything* (teachers, environment, culture, vibe, parents, etc.) checked all the boxes. HIGHLY recommend!!

My son just completed his first year at MMA. It's such an amazing school. His teacher knows each student's strengths and uses those to motivate them. My son can easily get bored in school, but not this year. He would come home and tell us about the interesting lessons he would have. He's in a classroom where he gains confidence and they all value kindness and support eachother in a safe and nurturing environment. It's a great feeling dropping him off every morning, knowing he's in such wonderful hands.

Our son has been at Monmouth Montessori Academy for years now, since he was three. We knew early on that we wanted a school experience for him that was marked by kindness, curiosity, respect, and the pleasure of learning rather than the lamentably early intensity of academic performance pressure that seems so prevalent in many American schools. We wanted him, in other words, to have a full childhoodand for his mind and heart to grow naturally in a place where he would be accepted and cared for. Monmouth Montessori, with its gentle-hearted and wise director, Lisa, and its passionate, skilled, dedicated teachers, has cultivated the very environment we longed for. The clean, bright beauty of the classrooms immediately returned me to the one year I myself spent in a Montessori classroom as a childtellingly, the one year of my early education that comes thronged with more memories of the materials I used and the skills I learned than any other early elementary or pre-school year. When we would bring our son to school in the morning, he would go to join the circle of his classmates, who were singing together a song in which each childs name was woven, and he would be welcomed among them. His teachers have attended to his whole self as he has grown, partnering with us as we watch and learn from him what he needs, what he loves, and what causes him to flourish. They have shown patient guidance to help him over academic, social, or emotional hurdles, and they have celebrated with us as we all recognize and name his areas of gifting. The other families whose children attend have been friendly, open-hearted, encouraging, and enthusiastic about the culture of kindness that is intentionally crafted in the Montessori classroom. Then, when our family began to have medical issues that put our ability to keep our son in the school at risk, this astounding community of educators rallied around us and made it possible for him to stay. We love him, and we love you, they said. That time was a heartbreaking one for us, for many reasons, and their tangible support and love for our child helped keep us afloat. I feel tearful with gratitude simply writing this paragraph, remembering. It is rare, I think, for a places vision to align so fully with the lived reality it presents. Yet this is undeniably the case at MMA. In a world that far too often rushes and demands of us all to the point of exhaustion, I cannot overstate the healing effect of this schools environment, where respect for children, room for curiosity, the practice of kindness, and vivid delight in learning reign supreme. If we have anything to say about it, our beautiful boy will be at Monmouth Montessori until hes a high school graduate. This school, and the wonderful people who embody it, truly is that good.
