I remember stressing out over where to send our son for preschool. I took him to all of the local schools. As soon as we walked in the door at Alpine Montessori, I knew it was the right place for him. I love the Montessori philosophy. I didn't understand what it was at the time, and I had some misconceptions. Some things I really loved about the school is that it's SO clean (our son never got sick, besides the occasional cold, during his years there), and it's organized (there are different work stations, it's not overwhelming with piles of toys all over the place). He will be starting kindergarten in the fall and not only can he read, but he can speak Spanish, Japanese, and ASL. His manners are impeccable - people often comment on them, and I KNOW they didn't come from us (ha) I wish he could go to Alpine Montessori forever. We can't wait to send our daughter when she's ready!

We are on child #3 progressing through this school from PreSchool all the way through Kindergarten. There is no other school I would even consider! We had done all of the research and school visitations at the outset with our first child, and Alpine Montessori won hands down. The teachers are what make this school stand out from the rest. Their kind and caring natures are key and this is passed down to the children in how everyone is treated. The children learn respect and discipline in the gentlest of ways. Add to that the strong academic skills imparted and there is no doubt that we have given our children the best of all foundations.

I'm a public school Superintendent and my wife is an award-winning public school teacher. Both of our boys attended Alpine Montessori for preschool and were well ahead of the pack entering kindergarten. The staff are incredibly dedicated, responsive and ambitious. Their differentiated, diverse and self- directed style of teaching is incredible to see in action - students truly own their learning. Student progress is constantly assessed and, at conferences, teachers walk parents through their child's portfolio and assessment data and identify areas of strength and needed growth. Most importantly, though, the staff members genuinely love the students and place their social and emotional needs first. These highly experienced teachers are among the best in their field. If you can manage to get your kids into Alpine Montessori, it will be one of the greatest gifts you will give them.

The teachers! This past year at Alpine Montessori, our son was loved and cared for in a way that brought us a sense of peace knowing that he was spending the day with Mrs. Wiegman, Mrs. Bergman, Mrs. Gorman, Mrs. Swita, Mrs. Finley and the 2 Miss Murrays! Besides the academic strides, I am most proud of the gentle, respectful, loving attitude that was cultivated in our son during his time at school. The teachers make this school outstanding!
