    Jag Physical Therapy in South Orange is top notch. The whole staff is great, but Ryan is the best. I would recommend Jag very highly, if you need Physical Therapy.

    JAG is in my insurance network and told me prior to my appointment that I would need to pay $120 for my initial appointment since I had not met my deductible (which is fine). However, they then billed me an additional $110 after my appointment - apparently the $120 was an estimate. This does not make sense at all since they knew what services I booked and what the in network rate is for those services. Beyond the billing issue, I am not a fan of JAGs model where the majority of therapy is performed by assistants (rather than the physical therapist). In my session, there were multiple instances where I finished an exercise and had to search around and signal for someone to come and tell me what to do next. After my poor experience, I searched for a new physical therapist and found one who, despite being out of my network, cost much less and the entire 60 minutes session was with the therapist (not assistants).

    This is the first 1 star review that I have ever posted. I had a single physical therapy session at this facility and it was uneventful and not worthy of a review. My 1 star review is for everything that transpired before and after the session. The registration process was horrible. They do not have an online portal to enter information and I attempted to provide them with the information on the phone. What should have been a 3 minute process couldn't be completed as I was constantly put on hold for other calls or some other reason. I gave up after around 10 minutes and decided to register at their office and it was a long process and the person at the front desk has a very poor attitude and is rude. What is currently happening after the session is much worse. The office bills what they believe will be the full charge up front if you have not met your deductible. Apparently, they do this as they can't submit an insurance claim correctly. It is now 6 weeks after my single session and I have called their office 3 times and the billing department they referred me to 3 times. My insurance company also called them and explained and faxed them what was needed. On my last call to the office they said that they had emailed the billing department all of the information and that I needed to call them. They provided me with a number. I said Thank you and the same rude front desk guy hung up the phone, I guess he was too busy to say "your welcome". The number he gave me went to a voice mail so I called one of the two billing numbers they previously provided me. Why they have 3 billing numbers they provide to clients is a great question. I proceeded to speak to a person who had no idea what I was talking about and asked me what email address the office sent the information to. Obviously, I wouldn't know what email address was used, but this seems to be a general billing service company. At this point the billing person said she would "escalate" and get back to me. The time I have spent attempting to have one bill processed is much longer than my one mediocre physical therapy session. I'm sure everyone doesn't experience this as they would have no clients. 2/23/24 Edit: In regards to the response from the owner asking for my contact information: This is not an anonymous review. Beyond the billing issue, I am not a fan of JAGs model where the majority of therapy is performed by assistants (rather than the physical therapist).
