1/2 I hate leaving negative reviews, but I am very unhappy with the service we received. I found out I was pregnant back in December 2018, we then learned she wouldn’t live long in March 2019. Soon after my husband and I started planning for an eventual funeral, but still remaining hopeful. We planned basically everything before she was born, but decided to not think about her gravestone until after she was born. She was born in August and died 29 hours and 36 minutes later. We laid her to rest 5 days after she passed. We then knew we had to pick out a memorial stone for her. I hated going to visit her and seeing nothing but dirt. So I reached out to several companies and Zeth was the first to respond. We decided to meet with him. We met with him 10 days after our daughter had died. We were still in that numb state. We had our toddler son with us during our meeting. We instantly liked Zeth. He seemed very friendly. We liked the price, we liked the quick design he threw together. I asked him how long the whole process would take and he said 6 weeks, but probably sooner. I was happy with that because her stone would be set before her first holiday- Halloween. So we decided to go with him without looking at any other companies. I mean who wants to “window shop” at memorial companies?? Anyway, he was quick at getting back to us at first. We paid in full one week after our meeting. We also asked for an invoice for a vase.... which we never got. But that’s a whole other issue. We emailed him asking for some minor changes to her stone. And he would take forever to get back. I mean we would have to email, them a few days later email again. And he still wouldn’t respond. And when he did, he would only answer one question, and his answer would be very brief. This would go on. I get it, he’s only human. He has a family and many other customers he has to attend to. I am a fairly patient person. But as we reached October and we still haven’t gotten a revised sketch, I started to get annoyed. He would ignore emails. I called his office, and his voicemail was full. So I decided to send a message through his website. He never responded to that but did get back to my husband stating he “never saw any of the messages”. Right.... He also said most monument companies take 8-12 weeks. Okay, but you told us 6. We didn’t get that in writing so I didn’t care. I honestly don’t care how long it takes, as long as there is some type of communication.

You did my daughter's stone. It is beautiful. John and I were lost when we came to you and you were very compassionate and walked us through the process. Every time I called or emailed you responded in a timely matter. You even allowed us to be there when you installed it because I needed to be and waited for us. I have recommended you to others. I hope I never need your services again but if I do, you will be who I will call. Thank you for being a great business

1 star is generous....horrible customer service & communication. They were rude & condescending& they acted like helping my elderly mother & I was a hassle. Apparently a simple custom drawn ( by someone who did it specifically to be put on stone) was to complicated. They actually did us a favor, as we found another SUPER company to help us. In response to Zeth Matalucci, we weren't going to pay until a proof was provided that hadn't been changed & you gave 1 price, not a range.....or communication was had between us. It took u months to return a email or phone msg. Simple good customer service was all we wanted. And you specifically were very rude to my mother. Go back to the secret service.

Zeth did my son Jeffrey 's headstone and did an amazing job. From the lettering, to the photo and designs on front and the back of the stone. I was 100% pleased with his work and professionalism. I had a vision for what i wanted and he brought it to life. True artistry. Highly recommend. Thank you Zeth, you're awesome!

2/2 Anyway, He sent a revised sketch which we immediately approved. Asked for another invoice for a vase because we wanted one. And asked how long it would be until install. He ignored our vase request again, and said once the cemetery approved it, it would be done in 2 weeks. Well weeks went by. And no update. We emailed again, and again. We waited about 3 weeks to email a rather passive aggressive email. And it just so happened that the cemetery approved the sketch that same day, what a coincidence. But we were happy, we knew the stone would finally be done in about two weeks like he said. At this point we gave up on our vase request. He didn’t seem to care. But once two weeks came and gone and we haven’t gotten an update. We emailed again wanting to know the status. To our surprise he emailed rather quickly. He told us the stone was done, that he was going to “pick it up Monday or Tuesday and drop it off to the cemetery the following day”. So on Wednesday we sent another email. Asking for him to let us know when he dropped her stone off. He never responded. I got my mother in law involved because she was asking about her stone. I was back to working and couldn’t deal with added emotional stress. She called him and left a message which he never returned. I emailed him another passive aggressive message which I got no response. The next day my in law left him another voicemail, a vague one stating she wanted information on a stone. And what do you know? He quickly returned her call asking how he could help. Once she told him she wanted information on her granddaughter’s stone, he got quiet. But told her he would drop it off “tomorrow”. And he lived up to his word. He dropped it off. And the cemetery installed it during the rain not even an hour later. I am so happy she finally has a stone. But I am beyond disgusted on how the whole process went. We were told 6 weeks, and didn’t get it until a couple days shy of 12 weeks. Communication was terrible. And the writing on the stone isn’t even centered as it was on the sketch. I know he sent the stone to get etched, but I am disappointed. You can’t notice it unless you’re really studying the stone which is what I do each time I visit. But Zeth, please learn how to treat your customers better. I am a patient and extremely understanding person. But this stone wasn’t for my grandmother who lived for decades. This was for my newborn daughter who I now have to live a lifetime without. This wasn’t ordered by someone who has ordered gravestones before. This was ordered by two mid-20-something year olds who now have to live the rest of their life with a giant hole in their heart. And now we have a sour taste in our mouth on monument companies. And I know where we won’t be looking when it comes time for another funeral.
