DBS Paving

Avoid DBS!! I was mistakenly thinking Dave is a honest and stand-up business man after meeting him first time. First meet went well. He patiently talked me through the works involved and gave us quotes(paver and asphalt options). After about 2 weeks, we decided to choose DBS and go with asphalt. I requested to meet and sign contract. Dave came and asked for $2000 or $3000 deposit. Initially he told us no payment until work is completed for asphalt(I have copy of text message). So, I told him I prefer to pay after the job is done. Then he started saying I offered to give him deposit when contract is signed. I NEVER told him that(why would I do that?!). But in the end he said that's fine and told us the job will not start at least for another 2 weeks. I'm okay with that and we both signed the contract. We patiently waited 2+ weeks and I tried reaching out to him to find out if job is scheduled via calls and text messages and he never responded. It's been more than a month now. We decided to pass DBS and find some other professional paving company(Hicks Paving) for the job. I'm glad that I did not give Dave/DBS the $2-3K deposit requested. However we lost one month naively waiting Dave/DBS. Honestly, I would be ok if he could at least show some professional courtesy by letting us know he couldn't take the job at this moment. But he chose to ignore. Are you comfortable giving business to owner like this? I am not.

We have hired DBS several different times for projects we needed done at an affordable price. Our retaining wall was done by Dave's son Payton and it came out beautifully. He was personable, on time and got the job done quickly and efficiently. He made himself available for any questions or concerns we had and was super knowledgeable about the craft. He also seal coated our driveway in a couple hour time frame and plowed our driveway after a snow storm. This company is not only reliable, their prices are reasonable and we really love hiring local businesses. If you're looking for a paving company that does it all, hire DBS for sure

These guys are awesome. We had our driveway paved three years ago by a company that knocked on our door. Three years later the asphalt was peeling off and we noticed it was not even an inch thick. We called DBS hoping they could offer us a cheap fix but after talking to Payton he explained what the previous company had done wrong and that unfortunately they run into situations like these all the time. He priced us for a driveway replacement. We received two more quotes that were very similar in pricing but Payton's knowledge of the situation was enough for us to hire them. They did a great job on the new driveway, showed up on time and finished the job in a couple days. Exactly how he said it would go. We are very pleased and would recommend DBS for any driveway needs.
