Clam chowder is the best, take out was quick, portions are large, and there were no leftovers .Been to L.B.I. many times over the years and this was the first time I have been there. We all loved The Gateway and we are going back in the summer

Seems like they're getting their act together. Was there recently and the crowd was chill and the bartenders friendly. Hadn't been there for about 15 years because there was a creepy bartender that carded my 27 year old friend twice, then said he needed to "scan her ID," but it didn't seem like he scanned it, but just wrote down her name and address. She was freaked out and we left. But it doesn't look like there's anything weird or creepy going on anymore

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We have been coming here for years just for their clam chowder in a bread bowl. Whether you choose the New England or Manhattan you are in for the most sumptuous, delectable soup you have ever had the privilege to taste! Their calamari and pickle bite appetizers do not disappoint either. Friendly, hometown environment and the staff are cordial and courteous. Handicap accessible. One of our best "haunts" on LBI!

OMG, it took forever to get waited on - only about 6 people in the restaurant (1230 pm). Food was good though...
