Lamp & Shade Works

This place is awesome. My mom was able to find lamp shades and able to get her favorite lamps repaired. The turnaround on the repairs was unbelievably fast. The customer service was great. Everyone who took care of us on our visits was professional, polite and friendly. The prices are very reasonable.

Terrible customer service, lack of friendliness, and not the most professional. I stopped here yesterday (Saturday) with my mother and sister with the intention of buying lighting for several rooms in our house. When walking into the store, there were 2-3 other customers (all white) in the store already and all of the employees were congregated at the checkout counter (directly in front of the entrance) talking to one another. It was evident that at least a few of them saw us walk in (as I had made eye contact with a couple of them), however none of them bothered to speak to us or ask/assist us with finding what we were looking for. We continued to look at their merchandise for an additional 5-7 minutes but still no one bothered to speak to us (even after walking around 3/4 of the store). In the time that we were walking around, several new customers (also all white) entered the store, each properly greeted by multiple employees. An employee went out of his way multiple times to speak to every new customers then passed by us and somehow wasn't even able to say "hello". Prior to leaving, my mom politely expressed her disappointment/frustration with this situation and the only response the employee had was "Oh, we all thought someone talked to you". Could not even get an apology of any kind or "sorry, is there something we can help you with". It's such a shame and ridiculously disrespectful that the employees of this store intentionally avoided speaking to a person of color, acting as if we didn't belong there or were not worthy of their time or business. My mom did find a few things that she was interested in purchasing, but after this instance we will NEVER return to this store. You can't tell me that there is not a discrimination problem.

Wow, such diverse choices of fans, ceiling lighting, lamps & more. It's so easy to shop with the exceptional help of the courteous staff. Honestly, without their help, we would not have had such a great shopping experience. An easy 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
