I have just started volunteering at the Shelter in June and have been an animal lover all my life. Honestly, I am very impressed with the Shelter and staff and other volunteers. They really do care about the animals and are dedicated to finding them homes and a comfortable life while at the Shelter. The place is very clean and well organized. Some people may be disappointed if there applications are not approved. But remember it’s all about the animals welfare and there are always multiple applications for an adoption. If you see an animal up for adoption on their website don’t hesitate to apply and check their website daily for new adoptions. I would trust them with my own animals. If you have the opportunity to donate, please do. They need food, blankets, towels anything to help the animals. Their mascots Precious and Brooklyn are the best. Love them! Michael

I have never felt so discriminated against in my life. It was my first time ever applying to adopt a pet and it was horrifying. I was told these puppies we’re going to be shown today at 12:30 so I arrive exactly at 12:28 The minute I walked in I was looked at up and down by CHRIS and was told there was a problem with her receiving applications. It’s a good thing I had the original application with me. My honest opinion is she never had intentions of showing me the puppy. She stated she had to ask specific questions and I quote “you’d be surprised the animal cruelty I see in some homes. Let’s just say I was appalled ! It gets better my landlord called her back regarding her reference check and he was accused of not being who he said he was. He stated he has never dealt with such unprofessionalism by anyone. After her telling me I was the last applicant , when I called her back to confirm her speaking to my landlord she said she printed out several other applications and scheduled three other appointments. She outright LIED... yet the blond haired blue eyed lady that was seen before me was approved on the spot for a puppy. She never checked my references and this is within an hour timeframe from me showing up at the shelter till the time I called her back. This lady needs to be reported. HORRIFIC Experience, unprofessional to say the least. Last but not least, after her telling me the dog costs $700.00 she asked me if I wanted to call my husband and see if he was okay with me paying that price for the dog 🤔 WHAT!
