Pathmark has improved in store layout a lot since I started going there 10 years ago. They have low unit prices on numerous store-brand bulk items like frozen vegetables and cereal. Store specials are often aggressively discounted and they do, on occasion, sell cheap clothing too. Plus, it's open 24 hours and so I typically go there later at night when there is no crowd.
