Gilly's Restaurant

The food was fantastic. The scallops were cooked just right, and my crab and tomato sauce was amazing. My only issue was the atmosphere is not casual in my opinion. I got an unwelcome vibe, but then again my wife didn't. Then again we seemed like the youngest people there (we are in our late 20's). The decor seemed dated (it just felt old), but definitely not a deal breaker at all. Bottom line. Food is amazing, but I wouldn't go there in anything less than a button down shirt. Jeans are pushing it. Maybe its just me. Will try again.

This is the most horrid dining experience i have ever had. The food was bad, the service was horrible and we were charged a lot for our time. Never go here. This place really is bad.

We had dinner there tonight and as a professional in the service industry for over 25 years, I cannot believe the horrid experience we just had. While our server was extremely polite and took good care of us, the server at the table next to us was actually drinking wine out of the glasses of the customers there (obviously regulars, or relatives, or something) as she blatantly talked to them about my hat and whatever else she found it necessary to talk about as they strained to turn their heads. Is there no manager on duty in this restaurant? If so, do they ever look in on the dining room? We had Sole Oreganata and Chicken Florentine. The food was average, certainly not extraordinary, and the decor was dated. It looks much more charming from the outside. We will not return and recommend that others find a better place to go to. Nights out should be spent in an enjoyable atmosphere with fine food and a polite service staff. I am appalled.

Stay away unless you like overly salty food and are younger than 75, especially if you have kids! We use to go here frequently. Last night, Saturday we went early because we brought our young child 18 months and we wanted to avoid him getting restless and bothering others. Great, we got there, no one else was there in the dining room. We ate and as we did the place started to fill up. The baby was talking loudly and yelling a bit but not crying. No one seemed to mind in fact a few lady's were laughing at him. My wife took him outside as I sat and waited for the check. Next thing I know this blond, white trash type waitress is making comments, out loud in front of everyone including me about how her kids "never yelled or were loud in a restaurant" ( I am sure they were perfect their whole lives). Regardless this was all made in what I felt was a denigrating tone. Speaking very annoyingly toward my baby. Needless to say I made a very sharp comment directed at her just as loud. Now I know we are not welcome at Gilly's Restaurant with our child. I will never step foot in that dump again as long as I live. I will also spread the word to my friends and family to stay away. Mind you our waitress was nothing but gracious, courteous and accommodating. Too bad her trailer trash of a waitress workmate ruined our night by making us feel so unwanted. What a grade A jerk she was. Goodbye forever Gilly's and good reiddance. I will never patronize a place that makes me or my family feel that unconfortable. Also thanks for the overly salty food. I had to drink 5 glasses of water to dilute all the sodium I ingested when I got home. The wings use to be good here but no more. Forget this place. If you are under 75 and make more than a peep stay away from this place as you will not be welcomed!
