Short: SPEND YOUR MONEY AT ANY OTHER RESTAURANT, RUDE STAFF/OWNER. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. LONG: So I placed an order for a medium pizza pie with green bell pepper, onions and olives. I asked for NO CHEESE on the pizza as thats what I usually do at any other pizza place, like dominos, papa johns and pizza hut. However, when I received the pizza I found parmesan cheese on most of the slices. At first I wasn't sure if it was parmesan cheese as I had specifically asked for no cheese on the pizza and I was told that there was no cheese on the pizza when they called out my order out loud. I asked my friend to try that 'little white speck" and she confirmed that it was indeed parmesan. We called them about this and were met with hostility, the rude old man who had given me my pie, hung up on us several times and when called one more time and someone else picked up but we could hear the old man in the background say "just hang up". Needless to say our issue remained unsolved and basically this place has the rudest people. No more will this place be getting our business, if you have any level of self-respect, I implore you take your money somewhere else.

Decent food BUT HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Long story short, we ordered two pizzas - one with cheese and one without- for pick up. We came back home to find the one without cheese sprinkled with some Parmesan cheese. I called them back to inform them of what could have been an innocent mistake however, the owner was extremely rude ! He yelled stating 'I did not put any cheese in it' & 'bring it back here... I want to see it' etc... And then hung up ! When I tried calling back, they kept hanging up after hearing my voice and finally when another person picked up, we could hear the owner was still yelling in the background asking the guy who had picked up to hang up and not talk to us. He eventually took the phone to rudely inform us to go back to them show the pizza so he can bake us a new one... With such HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE for something that could've been resolved simply by a polite respectful conversation, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone that has any self-respect.

Most uncomfortable experience of my life was being in this place. There was also a piece of plastic on my pizza.

"Rossopomodoro", or "Red Tomato", is true to its namesake. Tucked away in a busy strip mall, nevertheless this is not your typical "NJ Strip mall" pizza place. When you walk in, the space has been neatly transformed into a trattoria, complete with rustic tiled roofs, exposed brickwork and painted ivy. It may be located in a Jersey strip mall, but the pizza is far more traditional, with a thin, Brooklyn style crust. The sauce, made uncooked until put on a pie, is definitely not Jersey style, instead with a nice sharp acid tang of fresh tomatoes, no artificial sweetness, and a minimum of garlic and oil, so the fresh tomato taste predominates. Toppings are generous, but not overwhelming. Cheese is top quality, either fresh or shredded mozzarella depending on the pie. The crust is good - not great, but good. Traditional style pizzas are their strong suit, but special praise for their Grandma pie. This is something that is increasingly common, everyone seems to have their one variation on the theme, but these guys really know how to rock a Grandma pie. Just sayin'. They also serve a variety of Italian dishes which I can't vouch for (we usually stick with the pizzas) but the sights and sounds certainly seem good. The service is definitely old school, the owner does come across as a little grumpy at times but don't take it personally, it's just how he is. It's a family business, so there's usually a little yelling involved ... Think of it as entertainment!
