image As newcomers to homeownership, we encountered an unforeseen issue with water in our basement. To address this, we hired First Choice on February 28, 2022, trusting their expertise to secure our basement against moisture. We were reassured by their lifetime warranty, which explicitly covers all walls, cove areas, the entire floor, and cinder block walls, that we were making a wise, long-term investment. Unfortunately, our experience has fallen short of these guarantees.
Despite an initial investment of $15,000, our basement has been breached by water during the last two significant rainfalls, directly contradicting the assurances provided to us. The problem escalated to the point where water was aggressively entering our basement, highlighting a critical failure in the waterproofing system installed.
When we first noticed the issue, we promptly reported it to First Choice, providing photographic evidence. Constraints with our work schedules necessitated the rescheduling of their initial visit. By the time their technician assessed our basement, the area had dried, obscuring the immediate problem. We were informed to alert them again should the issue persist.
Heeding this advice, I sent a text and an email containing video evidence of the flooding during subsequent rainfall on March 23. After contacting them again today, I was told to expect a callback. However, with more rain predicted soon, our concern is mounting.
The inspection on February 23, 2022, identified wall seepage, cove leaks, and dampness as the culprits. Given these specific issues are covered under the warranty, our expectation was a thorough and enduring resolution.
We seek not just recompense but a swift and effective resolution to the waterproofing failure. If the problems cannot be rectified to our satisfaction, we would, at a minimum, request a refund for the aspects of the service that have proven ineffective, excluding the cost for the sump pump and Bilco door installation. It is paramount for us that the measures taken ensure our basement remains dry, honoring both the warranty and the initial assurances given to us.

image Wow First Choice Waterproofing did an amazing job in our basement. our basement is large 219 feet. a crew of 5-6 came in with Willson as the foremen and completed the job in 3 days!!!! they jack hammered the entire perimeter of our foundation, added piping gravel and cemented over. added 3 large sub pumps, moved everything out of the way and bam! our basement has been bone dry! the cost was 30% less than the competition and the work was excellent. And we were offered financing for the job at zero interest ! thank you Willson and thank you First Choice, we can't tell you what a relief this is to no longer having water in our 60 year old basement!!!! highly recommend First Choice.

image just called the company because I have a water problem in my basement. I received the call back and they refuse to give me an estimate if my husband is not at home as well. They have to have both of us at home during the estimate. A completely non sense. We cannot take days off both at the same time and I even informed them that my husband will be out of the country for 2 1/2 weeks and I could handle everything and they refused.
Unbelievable. Just for an estimate.
