Dear Ms. McGurty,It is unfortunate that you continue to engage in spreading lies about myself, and my company. I completed your driveway project, and at the time you were very happy with the work, and stated such in an email that you sent to me. I was paid in full in the amount of $7,500.00. Unfortunately, the concrete developed a hair line crack in one section. I came back with my workers to remove the damaged slab, and installed a new slab in that area. After another hair line crack developed we discussed putting pavers in that area, since the settling may be the cause of the cracking. We agreed I was providing the labor free of charge, and you were paying for the pavers. We spoke about moving forward once a few of my workers got back from their vacation. I didn't feel it was a rush to complete the work, since at the time you seemed fine to wait. You then decided not to reach out to me via phone nor email to move forward with the work. Instead, you chose to hire someone else to install the pavers. In regards to your deck, you proceed to make it sound like I crashed my truck into your deck, and it suffered major damage. When in fact it's a minor chip in one of the boards. I am not putting a claim into my insurance for a chip in a board when I can repair it. You stated in an email it could be filled in with wood putty, because you would be re-staining the entire deck in the spring. You were denied a claim from our insured for the concrete work, because they do not insure the workmanship nor material. I also cannot guarantee the concrete material, since I didn't mix the concrete, it was mixed and brought in by truck from another company. Our insurance alerted me of your response to their denial letter, since you were threatening to slander myself and my company. You have never been threatened nor discriminated against by myself, nor anyone else from my company for being a woman nor your age. I have completed (6) other projects on your block, and had not encountered any problems. I have never experienced anything like this. You took me stating a fact that I was losing money on your job, to be a menacing response to your claims. You are harassing your neighbor for no reason, stating the repairs done at his property are to blame for a hair line crack in your slab. The repair work at the neighboring property has nothing to do with your property, and yet you have called the state and local government to involve your neighbor. You stated I didn't use the materials listed on my proposal, yet I have pictures showing I installed welded wire prior to the pour of the concrete. To put an end to the situation, I offered to reimburse you the $4,800.00 from the invoice you sent me from your contractor, which had no business name, address, nor phone number, for the paver installation. I did not have to offer this, since I never walked off the job, nor denied to do the work. You stated you wanted the full $7,500.00 back, even though I completed all the work listed on my proposal, came back ripped out the slab with the crack, re-installed a new slab, and made a plan with you to do other work to rectify your problem. Nothing I have done or intended to do has been good enough for you. You have threatened to call other building inspectors from other towns, to take out highway billboards, and do what you have done here on google, Angies list, and Houzz, which is try and hurt my character, my lively hood and my family. This is all over a hair line crack and minor chip in a deck. You say you can't get a hold of me, but when my wife Barbara answered one of your slanderous emails, you replied with" Please do not contact me". I have all information to back my response and dispute your claims. I am proud to say that I have been in business for over 40 years. I stand by my work and reputation! It's a shame that someone can just write any review without facts! Unfortunately, I am not the first, nor will I be the last business this happens too.
