Reda Brothers Landscaping

We recently had a new paver walkway put in, new shrubs along our property line (23), as well as new front flower gardens by Reda Brothers. The quality of work and materials is top notch, they showed up when they stated they would, and completed within budget and on time...what more could you ask for. Also, they were extremely pleasant to deal with, they were not pushy, and the final product looks absolutely amazing...nicest walk way in the neighborhood. This is a family run business, who are from the area, and have a great reputation.

Jon Reda oversells himself when he comes to give you an estimate...that should have been a red flag. It took him several weeks before finally giving us an estimate (after us contacting him several times). Once we agreed on the estimate, he wanted 100% up front before doing any work...that should have been a bigger red flag! We told him “no” to the 100% and he started the work without giving us a revised “contract”. It came to $4,000+ to do the landscaping work (mostly replacing overgrown plants with new ones and planting a red bud tree. The red bud tree didn’t survive even though we gave it plenty of water daily. Two other rhododendron bushes and a butterfly bush also didn’t survive. We looked at the red bud tree more carefully and noticed a wire or cord tightly wrapped around the planted ball of the tree. I don’t know if that was supposed to stay once the tree was planted, but other landscaping professions said it should have been removed. In any case, we told Jon Reda about the dead tree. He said he would replace the dead tree and bushes but encouraged us to wait until the Spring to see if they recovered. Umm...do dead trees come back to life? We VERY reluctantly waited until March of this year (2020) and then began calling him to come back and replace the dead plantings. He ignored my husband's calls, taking advantage of my husband’s easy going and patient nature. We finally heard back from him on two different occasions between March and late June, wherein he said he would come to replace the dead tree, etc. He never came. We have finally given up. Congratulations Jon Reda...you’re a real professional. Thanks for nothing but aggravation and a dead tree in our front yard!!
