Nice clothing selection, friendly customer service. I order online, (mainly because the store doesn't carry a lot of the F,G,H bras) and pick up in store.

From a visit about 2 years ago: I like Lane Bryant, as a whole; however, I'm not surprised that this particular location closed down. The level of customer service was abysmal -- in particular, from the manager there. I'd read some reviews about the manager's poor attitude, but was in a bind -- needed to make a credit card payment and do a return before the return period expired (both on that particular day) and the Menlo Park store was further away and closing time was fast approaching. My mother was kind enough to go in for me to do the needed transactions. The payment was processed without a hitch (hence the extra star, because at least *that* got done), but the return was a different story.... My mother had to call me up because the manager refused to credit the proper amount to my credit card for a skirt being returned. I'd previously purchased 3 skirts at the Menlo Park Lane Bryant store (where I've had much better experiences during all the years of shopping there). It was during a "buy one, get one free on clearance items" sale, but the size I wanted to try on wasn't in stock so they shipped it to me. I bought/was charged for a total of 3 skirts at Menlo (two blue skirts -- same style, same color, but each a different size, one was in stock, the other was the one being shipped to me -- PLUS another skirt), yet all 3 were eligible for the BOGO free promo. That way, once I got to try on the blue one that was being shipped to me (and could see/feel which of the two sizes truly fit better), I could decide between the blue skirt that was shipped out and the blue skirt that I'd gotten at the store, return the one that I didn't need, and still have the other (third) skirt to take its place as part of the "BOGO free" promo. Apparently, Lane Bryant rings up "BOGO free" a bit differently on their receipts, compared to other stores (or did back then, in any case): rather than charging full price ($29.xx) on the first skirt and $0.00 on the second/free item, the price of the "buy one" skirt was divided between the "buy one" skirt and the "get one" skirt, though not evenly ($15.xx for one, $13.xx for the other, for a total of $29.xx for both skirts -- comes out to the same amount, though a bit more convoluted); however, despite the twists and turns, if you looked closely at the whole receipt, you could tell what the clearance price was for each skirt, how many skirts there were, and that there was a "BOGO free" promo being applied, because the reduced price for each of the two skirts, if added up, was the same as the full clearance price of the first skirt ("buy one") that was listed. Well, apparently, the East Brunswick store manager (yes, the manager) wasn't familiar with how Lane Bryant rings things up. The skirt I wasn't keeping (the one that had been shipped to me, but was slightly snug) had been rung up at the $13.xx price, but you could clearly see I was keeping the other two skirts. She wanted me to pay $15.xx for the first skirt, return the second (for a credit of only $13.xx), and pay FULL price for the third (which was supposed to turn into the "second" skirt, after the return was complete), thereby invalidating the BOGO free offer and making me pay more than 1.5 times the price for the two skirts I was keeping! She even had the gall to say, "I'm not trying to rip you off." (She may not have been "trying", but that would've been the end result!) I ended up keeping the skirt rather than being shortchanged. I didn't have time to go to a different store before the return period was up (nor the inclination, at that point) so I now own two skirts of the same color, the same style, except different sizes.... If you have a manager who can't/won't handle a return properly (as in *fairly*) or politely (at the very least) you can't expect a store to thrive. Hopefully, Lane Bryant's corporate office will take this into account when training potential employees/managers and avoid having their brand's image sullied by unprofessional, substandard service.
