Do not waste your time with this P.O.S. it's not even worth called an institute. Doesn't even deserve a star . This place is not worth your money. Poorly structured and very ill managed. Save yourself the headache and check out a better school.

Where do i start?I went and signed up to this institution to learn fundamentals of cutting, styling, knowledge of hair, sanitation, along with everything about barbering and MOST IMPORTANTLY being permitted and fully licensed master barber with job placement. It is a profession that I value highly till this day. I was in and out of community college out of high school with no ambition, no drive and no motivation for learning at a desk and having poor test taking skills. Well, hindsight being 20/20 I pursued my niche, my passion that I was always very fond of internally. I am a very meticulous individual with just about everything including my personal barber, which changed a few times over the course of 25 years. With support from my family and peers I built up confidence in myself to commit to the local and closest school. I wanted to be able to be accessible from home just in case of any emergencies, I value family so much more as ive grown and continue grow . I met with an advisor, we spoke prior to the visit. Mrs. Evette Perez, was the first to answer the phone. I thought that I asked the right questions prior to the visit. When I entered I was very nervous, it felt like the first day of school all over again sitting there waiting. I kept glancing at my phone, looking at emails and messages. Deep down, I was a good nervous because I felt like I was at the right place. Even so I took a selfie picture smiling. When I finally was called upon, I met with the financial advisor who assisted with paperwork and requirements necessary to sign up. I asked as many questions as I could because things felt too good to be true, she made me aware that I had nothing to worry about. My gut, my second brain was telling me that something was off. I didnt have a steady job and I didnt want to waste my time. At the age of 30 years old, many people claim its too late to start a career in hair. Personally, that gave me more motivation to start and finish the barbering program. I did that. It almost took everything out of me, from fluxes in weight gain, weight loss, lack of appetite, my mental health, loss of close friends, less time with family, late nights completing assignments, constantly failing my written exams and pre tests. But I did not quit, I made a promise to myself that I would start the program and finish the program. Many of my classmates stopped showing up, stopped trying, stopped applying and completely lost interest. Two of my classmates who started the same day as myself till this day im not certain that they are behind the chair. I didnt lose hope because I was introduced to a teacher in training. His name, Ryan Esposito. I can write a book because of the positive outlook he has about hair, how he carries himself, his demonstrations and his performance behind the chair. His work ethic speaks for itself. In addition, he utilized his time there efficiently. To me, he was the diamond in the rough place as well as a few others. My classmates, instructors and clients all gravitated towards him. He showed me the right way of being a master barber and professional. Hes the reason that kept me going, even after the 30 day grace period I considered transferring to another school because the operations, the curriculum, facility, equipment, soap down to the towels were outdated. Mr. Esposito, even donated his personal equipment and products along with towels to the institute for us to have the necessary and proper equipment. He went above and beyond, I made it to the senior floor and he noticed a light was out and took it upon himself to replace it for better lighting. The soap dispensers were filled with shampoo, so something that small meant everything! Showed that he cared for us.Took a long time from 03/13/2019 to a year ago. I thought I had already properly paid and filed through the advisors. That double process alone gave me added anxiety, stress and mental health to this day. I had confidence the school was supportive but when my papers and pictures were missing it made me question my whole time @ Capri. Makes me sad
