I asked for recommendations from a community site and The Grout Guy was highly recommended. He was on time, cleaned up, gave us a fair price and did a beautiful job.

We hired Brian McAuliffe "The Grout Guy" to remove and install new tile in our bathroom. We chose Brian to help support local businesses during the pandemic. Before selecting our 12 x 24 tile, we confirmed Brian was experienced with installing this size tile, on at least two separate occasions. During the installation, he mentioned he has not often worked with 12 x 24 tile. I thought he was making a joke considering he confirmed twice prior; but unfortunately it turned out he was not. The final product was very disappointing. Many of the tiles were uneven (see attached pictures). Brian requested addition fees since it took longer to work with the 12 x 24 tile. Based on the quality of the work performed, I paid him an amount slightly above the original estimate. In hindsight, I should not have done this. After a local realtor inspected our house to prepare for a potential future sale, she recommended that we have someone remove the tile he installed and reinstall new tile. In addition, several months later we started having significant water leaks between the tile. I requested a refund from Brian to offset the cost associated with correcting the tile and water leaks but he refused. A very disappointing outcome and experience. Service: Tile fitters

Brian The Grout Guy was recommended to us by our plumber. We needed grouting done in our Master Bath shower and some tiles replaced in our entrance way and kitchen. We asked that he match the existing grout in the shower and were assured that it would be taken care of. Brian came with a helper. Brian replaced the tiles in the entry way and, other, than not cleaning up grout that was smeared on the contiguous tiles, he did a fine job. However, he left his helper to grout our shower. Not only was the work done in a sloppy fashion but the grout that was put in was dark gray and the existing grout was white. Without checking the shower; we paid him the $650.00 that he requested. When we saw what a mess the shower was and that the color of the grout was wrong, we called Brian who came back within a few days. He replaced the dark gray grout with the correct color. Upon leaving, he told us that he was charging $50.00 (which he said is half what he would normally charge for correcting work done incorrectly). This was after paying him $650.00 for the previous work. When we disagreed with him and told him it should have been done correctly in the first place; rudely, he told us to never call him again. Is he kidding?? I could have taken a grouting lesson at Home Depot and certainly done a neater job and, in addition, I would have chosen the correct color to begin with. He doesn't have to worry about being called back again. Not only will I tell all of my friends about his work and attitude but will also inform the plumber that referred him.
