This school is horrible they don’t treat student students my son to this temporarily but she hated teachers yelled at students for no reason. Girl we’re favored over boys. And too many bullies

Wouldn’t really recommend it. Teachers can get mean at times, and you learn some of the same stuff each year. We learned basic addition and subtraction for several months straight! This gives you an idea that the school isn’t all that great. Not junk, but could use a LOT of improvements to get this rated better.

We now reside on the West Coast, but my son attended B Bernice Young for Kindergarten and First Grade. My son was confident and excited on his first day of Kindergarten and had a very successful Kinder school year. On the first day of First Grade my son cried! As if he had had some sort of premonition of what was to come. I believe he did. We had been told that Mrs. Radcliff was mean when we found out she was his assigned classroom teacher. Not knowing enough about the staff, we did not object. She was terrible. She favored the girls. The boys were clipped down for the smallest of infractions. She did a lot of yelling. The biggest problem came at our first parent-teacher conference when she suggested having our son tested for ADHD. We worked with our son a lot at home and he was already reading when he entered first grade. We didn’t agree but decided perhaps we’d have him tested anyway because he was excitable. The psychologist informed us that he was not only NOT ADHD but recommended that the illustrious Mrs. Radcliff promote and encourage children like our son, to think outside of the box, provide more challenging materials for kids like our son, rather than rest on the ADHD tag. My son is now a happy sixth grader. He is in the gifted program and STEAM programs at his middle school. He loves school and thankfully, he has had more teachers that have encouraged and pushed him, rather than discourage. Not a fan of the school at all.
