The Music Shop

Today is friday, march 29th 2024. i went to pick up my guitar after work, i get there as the dude in his mid 20's with shoulder length dark brown hair with a nose ring is locking up at 5:03pm. i asked him if i could please get my guitar real quick because i spent a lot of money getting it set up there and i am really excited to play it over the weekend with my band remind you the guitar has been paid for already. he responds with, "sorry man i already set the alarm" and i ask him if there is anything he can possibly do? and he says "no, we are open tomorrow at 9am" I was appalled by the lack of customer service. yes i understand the shop closes at 5pm but i got there as the guy was locking up and walking away, to go the extra mile and provide excellent customer service would've been to let me get my guitar for the weekend. i found it to be incredibly lazy to the point of being disgraceful. how hard is it to set an alarm?? you press one button to disarm it. and then one button to arm it again. I work in the hospitality industry and i am used to going above and beyond for customers, but i suppose i cannot expect the same amount of effort from everyone else . that being said the lack of effort was pathetic on his part. i checked the hours for saturday and it is 9am - 3 pm i work on Saturdays until 3:30 pm so im not going to be able to get my guitar for an entire weekend. plus i drove there to pick it up. its a shame really because i love the music shop, im really happy it is still there after all these years proudly helping the community have access to instruments and art, and the people who helped me over the last couple of days were really friendly and nice. sean did an amazing and speedy job of setting up my guitar and david had amazing customer service behind the counter, but unfortunately this dude with the nose ring may have cost you a customer. I have been coming to this store location for the last 15 plus years of my life. i was planning on returning to do more work on my guitar, but the lack of customer service that i received today left a really bad taste in my mouth and not sure that i will continue coming back.

Stopped by there today for the first time even though I knew about them for years. We needed a minor repair on my son's trumpet and they did it while we waited. Great service, friendly staff and all around a nice store.

My son complained about problems with his buttons on the saxophone weve been renting for him. The person that was servicing it said hell try to fix the problem as soon as possible since I live a little farther away. It was done way faster than expected and they called me as soon it was ready. The employees in the store were also very helpful and informative when I had additional questions about other instruments. I would recommend the music shop to anybody interested in their services.

I love The Music Shop. They have made renting my children's instruments so easy! I enjoy going in and talking with all the staff who are so nice and informative. They make my kids feel cool. From the parent perspective, their rental person Dorothy has been so helpful to me over email. When I needed to switch out a bow, they did the exchange the next day at the school so I didn't even have to drive to the shop. I was so happy, that made this busy mom's day! Music shop is a great resource for all music needs including instrumental rentals.
