After giving the 103 over a year to work out the kinks since their "grand" reopening, it seems they've instead gotten worse. This was our (my husband and I) 3rd go round at this restaurant, but after not going for about a year we figured that they would've worked out the kinks. While there are no french fries on the menu (regular ones) they do have them available.. They're hand cut which is nice, but not parcooked, so they're VERY soggy and kinda gross. My husband ordered the ribs. The menu descibes them as slow smoked for hours, which sounded good. What he got however was burnt and tasted like licking a burnt log that had been covered in cheap BBQ sauce. He could hardly chew them, never mind getting that ashy taste out of his mouth!
As a person with gluten intolerance I'm very careful about what I order anywhere we go. As a chef myself, I can easily figure out exactly what is meant in menu descriptions...usually! I ordered the Pork Carnitas (or something like that). The menu described it as pork medalions slowly cooked with garlic and salt with carnita sauce served with guacamole and sour cream. Nothing in there gave me a clue as to what I actually got. I recieved their smoked pork shoulder shredded in 2 flour tortillas, covered in tomato sauce and about a pound of cheese. Not expecting that at all, and being gluten intolerant I sent that back and ordered the potato skins instead. (Keep in mind that my husband was eating his charbroiled BBQ'd log the whole time and was almost done when I was finally able to send mine back). After almost 40 minutes I finally recieved my skins. They were burnt and covered in the same BBQ mess my husband had just eaten part of. I didn't eat a bite of it. I was so disgusted by that point that I wasn't hungry anymore. As a chef myself I'm extremely embarassed for the owner of the "new" 103. Apparently he doesn't know how to cook or about the truth in menu laws, which is sad because the old 103 was such a destination in Rochester.
Long story short: SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY CLEAR OF THIS ONE!

Had not been in since the old 103, it was Friday night and the place was dead. I should have taken this as a sign.
I ordered the steak fajitas, my wife the chimichangas(sp) (oh, my wife ordered the watermelon margarita, they could not make it, out of watermelon mix). heard the folks behind us, two of the items they wanted, they ran out of...then the guy at the bar ordered a Turkey dinner, out of mashed potatoes, out of cranberry sauce. How does a place run out of mashed potatoes on a dead night?? It takes less than 20 minutes to boil more and mash!!! My wifes meal was just ok, my fajitas, the steak was cut the wrong way, tough, the lettuce was all wilted and limp, the beans were cold and had a funny white sheen on them, the rice was cold and all dried out (it looked like the side plate was made in advance and stored in the fridge, then microwaved? Three tortias, not wrapped to stay warm or in anything. I had to ask for sour cream and salsa (horrible salsa), they also had a blob of guoc that was like you get in the tube at the market.
We Will not be going back, EVER!
Someone asked where the owner was of the bartender, she said she hardley ever see's him because he is opening another business, maybe he needs to be woried about the 103 and not about a new business. If this place lasts through the summer I will be amazed.
