Old Red Inn & Cottages

My husband and I booked a weekend stay August 13-16, 2021. We were notified that the Inn was sold and the new owners would honor all reservations. We drove 3 1/2 hours to find out the Inn was closed. We were unable to find other accommodations for the weekend. It was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend but it turned into a nightmare. We will not be recommending the Red Cottage Inn.

The place was olde dirty small cabins. Bad vibes. And terrible logistics as they had septic problems and didn’t notify us who planned a vacation around staying with them. DO NOT STAY HERE

I’m hoping to reach out to the OLD owners. (Or any for the matter) we booked a stay for Monday, August 23 and come to find out it’s abandoned.. we booked it through booking.com, so I called to tell them that the place was abandoned, no ones answering the phones or emails, and there are a bunch of reviews of people showing up no one being there it being abandoned And that we had made reservations on your site (Booking.com) for place that’s not even open could I get a refund. Booking.com said no because the old red inn Is still in the booking.com system, And that the owners didn’t call or let us know before they sold it, and to cancel the reservation is $137. We don’t have that to spare..so now we’re out a couple hundred dollars And no place to stay for our trip on the 23, we already Booked reservations for an amusement park in a few other places in the area. and most hotels or motels in the area don’t have reservations open for that date..So I wasn’t sure if you (Old Owners) could call booking.com and let them know that it is not open. We had reservations for 3 nights at the Old Red Inn & Cottages (8/11/21-8/14/21). We received a confirmation e-mail 3 days before check-in stating that my cottage was ready. Upon my arrival on 8/11 we found that the property was sold about a week ago, yet we weren't notified. The cottage and the main Inn were locked. No management were on-site. Very disappointing after driving 150 miles. I cannot recommend the Old Red Inn & Cottages!

No one is there no one answers the phones they leave people with no where to stay because the business was sold and the new owners are not keeping reservations
