2 weeks after installation there was dramatic fading by the sliding glass door (east facing, receives 3 hours of direct light per day). I read up on the product before buying and saw that "fading may occur". Personally, I think that warning is a drastic understatement. More honestly, it would say "it WILL discolor in under 2 weeks." WECork customer service has not been very responsive, and recommends I put an area rug over the spots that are fading. While the most drastic fading is in front of the sliding glass door, there is also a skylight bathes about 30 sq ft in light for an hour a day, and that section is beginning to show signs of fading as well. So We Cork's area rug suggestion would pretty much mean I should carpet my kitchen. Really, I should have just picked a better flooring. I would not recommend this flooring company or product to absolutely anyone for any reason. And the tiles were cut irregularly, so even if you were installing them in a room with no natural light, it still wouldn't be a good choice.

As a retailer who represents this line I would be very cautious of installing WeCork products. We sold a client of ours the WeCork Serenity series. It's a very nice looking product but buyer beware of the company standing behind their product. We were shipped originally shipped 30 boxes of which 6 boxes were damaged in shipping. After initially refusing to replace the 6 damaged boxes they finally agreed. We delivered the boxes to our client to allow for the proper acclimation of the product. To do the flooring correctly we had to install a 1/2" sub floor. In this case we had to glue the cork flooring down because the homeowner wanted to install her new cabinets on top of the floor. Though the Serenity Cork is a locking floor you can not install cabinets on top of a floating floor. We installed the flooring and noticed part of the floor had random planks that were a darker shade then others which is common in a lot of the LVT floors we install regularly. The designer who specified the floor did not think it looked right so we notified WeCork and were told there are no dye lots however the six replacement boxes they shipped us had the new factory finish applied which gave the planks a different visual. Ann Wicander the owner of WeCork said the issue could be corrected by applying 3 coats of Bona Traffic HD. We spent a morning buffing the floor and applying the first coat of finish. We did not see any difference but were assured that 3 coats would have everything blend in. We went back three hours later to apply the second coat. It began to peel off immediately. We called Ann and were told she would speak to her people in Europe where the product is made to find out why this was happening. In the mean time our client was becoming very frustrated with everything and wanted to rip out the cork and switch to hardwood flooring. Ann Wicander was nice enough to speak to our client and assured her they would take care of everything. Europe had no answer as to why the Bona product was not working. After several calls back and forth Ann agreed to replace the floor and asked if we could install the new floor on top of the existing floor. This was not an option as the added height in all the doorways would become an issue. We agreed the best option would be to rip up both the existing cork floor, the 1/2" sub floor and start all over again with new sub floor and new cork. We had to rent a dumpster for the removal of the floor, supply and install the sub floor, and again install the cork flooring. After everything was complete, I spoke to our client. She was pleased with how we stood behind our work and made sure the flooring went in correctly. Bottom line is our customer's satisfaction comes first. We will do whatever is needed to make the job right and we like to think we work with suppliers who feel the same way. I was shocked to then find out that after doing all we did at a cost of $4295, WeCork refused to pay us for the re-installation for a product that they shipped us with two different finishes. They refused to cover the labor while all the time letting us to believe they would. I will not work with a company who doesn't stand behind their product or service and will feature this review on their display in our showroom for other clients to see. In response to the WeCork reply that a dealer should be responsible for not installing a floor that is defective. That would be correct if the floor was defective, in this case the floor was not defective. WeCork changed their finish without notifying their dealer network. So we are left to be responsible for WeCork's oversight for not telling their dealers that they have changed their finish. That oversight cost us $4295 and if WeCork was a real partner with their dealer base they would take full responsibility for this. I am sure they will have another excuse but bottom line is they shipped two different finishes and have left us with the loss.
