Canoe Restaurant & Tavern

We had the most terrible waiter on the afternoon of October 23rd. Rude and condescending. My wife asked for bed/rolls. He returned with bread in a paper bag. Thrown on the table. When we asked for a bag for our to-go containers, he said “we have no bags.” The “We’re Hiring” sign out front should have been an indication to stay clear. We left a tip and respect all waitstaff but this was way over the top. Perhaps being filmed for Candid Camera.

Table service was top notch. Kris did a wonderful job for us on a busy night. Meals were excellent, served at a proper temperature and well seasoned. We r more ourselves and will certainly return.

Haddock chowder dish was good. Mediterranean shrimp scampi was good but a bit too sour for my taste and tons of olives. I guess I was expecting regular shrimp scampi. Bread was good and service was very friendly. Nice atmosphere and decor.

Good meal, good service, but not particularly impressed with the waitress coming over and telling us we had to be out within 5 minutes for the next reservation. An hour and a half is hardly enough for a meal this expensive
