Still a 5* review, still incredibly grateful to AASN, their volunteers, and the support groups offered for caregivers; the latter providing infinite strength and new friendships to Mom and me as we cared for my Father for many years before his death in January. What has changed is that now one person is diagnosed every 66 seconds, there still is no cure, ALZ care remains one of the largest source of non compensated (usually family) caregiving. Seems like people are talking about it more now, which is good, because as Baby Boomers age, there will sadly soon be nobody who isn't touched directly by this hideous disease. AASN continues to educate the community and those on the front lines, raise funds, and lobby for more funding for studies and trials which are showing promise. Naive me wishes that no other family has to suffer the devastating affects of ALZ; sadly, this won't be the case. I'd encourage anyone looking for information, a great place to volunteer, or for care assistance to reach out sooner than later to AASN.
