A little bit after the time of the Covid shutdown, I was at a gas station on East Charleston and Fremont trying to fill up my tank. A man was walking around the gas station asking people about their current insurance needs. Although, I hate when people solicit to me unannounced, I had to respect this man because he wasn't asking for handouts. He was trying to generate business. Not only was he trying to generate business, he was trying to generate business because this was a time when it was very difficult to generate business and what he was offering was something that we all had to have anyway. At that time, my finances were also in a questionable state. I had already planned to decline this man's offer in advance, but I still wanted to hear him out. Normally, here in Vegas, insurance rates are determined by what ZIP code you live in. If you are living in a zip code where people are financially doing better, your rates are a little bit higher. Theoretically, I was working a job that had me living between Northern Nevada and Southern Nevada. I briefly mentioned to him that I was paying a lot of money because I had an accident and a ticket on my record. He proposed that he could possibly get me a rate that was very affordable and that would cover up to two vehicles. So I mentioned that I was taking care of my deceased mother's vehicle as well. I believe he got back to me with a quote in less than three days. Surprisingly, that quote was $100 less than what I was paying for just my vehicle alone. Even though I was not ready to insure my vehicle yet, I kept his business card in my van for months. So, finally comes the day when I need to sit down and shop for insurance. I never did forget that day that the man reached out to me. I was a customer of Geico, who at the time was offering me a decent payment arrangement. However, when it came time to renew, the numbers seemed a little bit steeper than before and I wasn't making as much money as I was at the time that I agreed to the policy. So, I decided to call up that man to find out if I could still get a good deal. Luckily for me, he did. It appears that he owns two offices, one on Charleston and one very close to me on Desert Inn. So, I gave the Desert Inn office a call and I received quick and friendly service with a great rate. Again, because zip codes, driving habits and driving history play a major factor in your vehicle rates, I can't promise that everyone will receive satisfaction. However, because of my good fortune, I would STRONGLY advise to please give Jacinto Insurance a call when doing shopping for auto insurance.
