Context: first time patient, dental check-up The computer was broken in my exam room, so the assistant shot three doses of x rays at my head with no x rays scans being created. She expressed no great concern at the added radiation. I did, and told her I’d be happy to skip the Xrays as I reminded her that I had recent dental x-rays (less than 6 months old) to share, and she brushed me off. She simply notified me I was wearing a Vest. Considering that most dental offices try to reduce radiation of the patient by not x-raying us every visit, I felt this office did not have my best interests in mind. Keep in mind that... "Exposure to dental X-rays is associated with potential risk of cancer. In the head and neck region, cancer risks caused by exposure to dental X-rays have been discussed... Several studies have found an association between dental X-ray exposure and increased risks of brain cancer, tumors of the parotid gland and breast cancer and thyroid cancer. In particular, thyroid cancer is one of the most common cancers in the worldwide, and the side effects from dental radiation exposure are likely to contribute to its incidence due to the location of the thyroid gland." according to NCBI. The HIGH DOSAGE OF RADIATION is VERY CONCERNING. My husband, there for another appt, experienced another, similar issue. The assistant kept having to remove and add a flashdrive with each scan as the computer would not save the scans. The poor equipment used here led to me receiving 19!!!!! shots of xrays. I asked for my images, so I can reuse these in the future (legally dentist offices have to share these with you, so please ask for them. You have paid for them.) to try to reduce my exposure to cancer inducing radiation. This x-ray process alone took 1 hour!

Biggest waste of time! If i knew their Groupon didn’t mean anything, I would have just gone to another dentist.
