        When you go to Las Vegas on a limited budget trying to maximize your gambling and partying, I HIGHLY recommend spending the majority of your time on Freemont street. The Nathan's Hot Dog stand in the Mermaid came down from the heavens and was the main source of our trip's nutrition (not for everyone I know). I loved the old style slot machines where you can still pull the arm and get paid out in actual coins. The Mermaid casino is small, quirky, and just my style. **** the Mermaid Casino has since been torn down. You can still enjoy these coin payouts at other select establishments downtown that shall remain nameless as to not put the "he-be je-be" on them

        We went in just before they closed forever. Someone bought it and a couple of small properties beside it. We didn't gamble just went in for a fried Twinkie. It was very good, but was the last one I guess!
