Where do I even begin... We recently moved to the Las Vegas area to start a business. We decided on a 6,000 sq ft. house in the Green Valley South area owned by Sansone. We fell in love with it because of the basement and the space it afforded for our large family. The previous tenant lived in absolute filth for several years, allowing the pets and animals to run rampant, using the house has a toilet for who knows how many years, but we saw the "diamond in the rough", and the Sansone rep assured us the house would receive a deep clean once the carpets were replaced, and the many other issues of broken blinds, lights, appliances, clogged drains, etc would be addressed once the flooring was finished. Being landlords and property owners of large, valuable homes around the country ourselves, we could not imagine anyone would not follow through and take care of their $700k property, so we took him at his word. He told us, "make a list over the next 30 days of anything that needs attention and we will get it taken care of." Problems started from day one... We listed our move-in date on the rental application and were told all of the flooring would be done before we moved in; the carpet replacement had not even begun when our move-in date came and the Sansone rep admitted he had not even looked at the move-in date we listed on our application and assumed we were moving in at a later date. Meanwhile, we had already switched all of the utilities into our name just in time for the flooring company to come and spend 5 days tearing out and laying new carpet with all the doors open and the 5 separate A/C units running constantly through the middle of September. The owner chose to replace the luxury pad/carpet that was ruined by the previous tenant's pets with the "lowest-grade carpet approved by FHA", according to the rep from the flooring company, which we found out after our children kept coming to us with punctured feet/toes from the tacks and nails sticking through the pad and carpet. We began reaching out to Sansone once the carpet was replaced to schedule the deep clean that was promised (in addition to vacuuming up after the flooring company, who apparently did not own a working vacuum and was unable to clean up after themselves), and our rep from Sansone immediately changed his tune on the whole situation. He insisted that the house had been deep cleaned prior to the carpets being replaced and that any mess in the house MUST be from our 5 children over the past couple of weeks. When confronted with the photographs attached, he responded with, "Well I'm sorry that your 6,000 sq ft mini-mansion was not spotless for you when you moved in, but you need to be 'reasonable'." After continuing the back and forth, they sent out a cleaning company to do a "light clean" and left the rest of the filth from the previous tenant and the construction clean on the carpets for my wife and I to clean up ourselves. We have now been in the house for nearly two months. After three weeks of visiting the laundromat, we gave up on them supplying the washer and dryer they promised and purchased a set ourselves. Which was more frustrating because we had a brand new set we chose NOT to load into our POD because they assured us they would supply it. We did not have working lights in our bedroom until I finally caved and bought an 8' ladder to reach the vaulted light fixture and fix it myself; the Garbage Disposal is broken and beginning to stink as the sink gets more and more backed up. 60% of the drains in the house are clogged and will not drain. The refrigerator door does not close properly; there is one working light out of the four office-style flourescent lights in the Master Closet. We disposed of the previous tenants trash and personal belongings ourselves. The air filters for all 5 separate zones were years past due (which I also replaced because our children were getting sick). Now, we have received notice that the owner is selling the house in auction. Whoever buys this house is going to inherit a VERY frustrated tenant.
