Budget Truck Rental

The most absurdly awful customer service Ive ever experienced. I returned the truck the same day I picked it up, and when I arrived at 4:30 the office was closed and locked. I dropped the key in the drop box and went on my way. I never received a receipt so I called customer service later that week, but unfortunately Budget will do everything possible to avoid talking to their customers so I wasnt able to speak with someone at the location. When I later checked my credit card receipt, I was charged more than double my original price. After *literal* hours on the phone with 10+ people, I was told I was charged for a 4-day rental, a late return, and a key drop fee. If I want a refund, its somehow MY job to prove their employee closed every that day? What a joke.

Budget Rental not impressed if you cancel your appointment for your time that you're supposed to be there and you don't give him a 48-hour notice then they charge the credit card that you have on file with them that you have to put down as a deposit but they don't take any money out but they just have that number as insurance on you and then when you do have to cancel for some unfortunate reason they charge you screw them

Budget was a complete failure on all levels. DO NOT rent from them! I made a reservation for a 16ft truck to move my family across country. The day before my pickup I called to confirm they were going to have a truck ready for me because I had a problem with a rental reservation with them I had 3 years prior to this experience. The associate assured me my truck was there and ready for me to pick up at 10am the next day. At 9:30am the next day, they contacted me to say the truck tires were bald and couldnt be released to me. Their only solution was to rent me a 22ft truck (too big and costly for my needs and budget). While on the phone with the manager of this facility expressing my reasonable frustration and trying to get her to come up with a better solution she was rude, only provided poor excuses, was not concerned with my dire situation and put me on hold without a word and never came back on the line to talk to me. After calling the Budget customer service line and being transferred to their fleet operations, they were also rude, told me they were going to do nothing to fix the situation, said that Budget doesnt guarantee their equipment, informed me they were cancelling my reservation and recommended I call Penske or U-Haul if I wanted a 16ft truck. I called Penske and was in a 16ft truck within the hour. Penske was extremely helpful and cared more about my situation with Budget than any of the Budget associates were. The best thing Budget did for me was recommend renting from Penske! Dont bother renting from Budget. Youll surely be let down and they care little how badly they screw you over. 1 star is a compliment for this awful company.

Horrible experience, we rented a truck to move out of state and once we had the truck loaded up, the fuel line broke and we were leaking gas everywhere. We spent all day on hold with customer service and were told that we could not get a new truck until a repair person had come out and verified that the truck could not be fixed. We were told that once this happened, they would send out a new truck and a crew to help us completely unload and reload our possessions. Once the repair person finally showed up and told us what we already knew, that the truck was completely useless, we called back to get our crew and new truck and were told that they had closed for the day! How ridiculous. We booked an emergency U Haul and reloaded ourselves, completely exhausted. We still had to wait to leave town after loading for budget to send out a tow truck to tow away their piece of junk. It has been a month and I am still working to get a refund. I have spent hours on hold with customer service and I am completely dissatisfied with their handling of the situation. It's not ok to treat your customers this way. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company to anyone. Save yourself the headache, it is not worth it!
