Much damage, they did not cover furniture as other moving companies do. They refuse to reimburse me for damages, and I had purchased the extra insurance. Antique furniture ruined. They took longer than the same move from Lincoln four years ago, this time only having to move a few blocks. Piled most of my items in the garage instead of taking into the house as requested - boxes clearly marked as to where they go. Did not return calls or emails. I'm disappointed in the move and even more so with the lack of follow up service. They should at least reimburse me for damages the movers themselves pointed out to me.

I would have given this business a higher rating had the owner been more responsive. Long story short: the movers were over an hour late both days that we had hired them, and the owner of the company (Jeannie) became immediately unresponsive after I provided her with documentation of the damage to several large pieces of furniture. Jeannie said she would be adjusting the price for our move but has yet to respond to my requests for information and/or any necessary documents to file a claim with their insurance company. Jeannie did waive a couple of fuel surcharges ($30 total), but that doesn't come near covering the costs to buy materials to try and repair any of the furniture that was damaged, let alone replace anything. My last correspondence to Jeannie was sent on May 26, and it is now June 14. Although the moving team was friendly, I was surprised at the poor communication between Jeannie and the movers and was very disappointed that the situation with my damaged furniture was not addressed. I would not recommend Murphy Moving and will not be hiring them for any future moves. Service: Local removals

Jeannie seems to be going thru some personal issues dealing with identity theft. I know this because this was her reason why the movers didn’t show up at their scheduled time this morning and also the reason she didn’t call. After Jeannie’s long winded guilt trip about her life woes - she promised that she would call me back with times/movers appointment. Jeannie did call me back after an hour. She said I should find another company. I guess my cash (they only take cash) isn’t green enough for her. Which then makes me wonder how identity theft effected the business that is cash based? Jeannie - I have problems of my own. Most are because of your incompetence as a business owner. And for the record, Jeannie, the people who stole your identity didn’t impact my day... your lack of responsibility and shoddy business practices impacted my day. She kept saying they’ve been in business 60 years... blah blah blah. I really doubt they will be in business another year if this is how they operate. I do not have a hidden agenda. My agenda is very clear - I wrote a review as a warning to others - stay away from this business!!! I wouldn’t want anyone to deal with the hassle that is Murphy Movers. I know my experience is not a fluke. Please save yourself some trouble and headache and book with any other of the number of movers in the Omaha area. Thank you Jeanie for replying to this review and keeping it current so that others will read it.
