My son has been there since the end of 2018 and it has been a nightmare. Lack of medical care, lack of mental health care, inability to go outside during the day without the loss of a meal, hobby time, or recreation as to physical fitness. Instability of staff. For visitation, inmates do not get lunch in a 3 hour visit if the family drives up early. The food Dispensers have been removed so there is no eating allowed and inmate are not fed until 4pm. At 4 or 5 am then a visit at 8:30 to 11:30 with no food until regular dinner time. Inhumane. My son has a hearing loss with the solution is to carry A note to show the guards if he doesn't respond immediately or to wear A yellow/ orange visit letting others know he can't hear rather than giving him hearing aids. The vents in the place has been clean in years which blows at dust causing my son to have lung issues. Medication which is working, now after 5 months they said they were going to X-Ray his lungs, or what about the ongoing spread.of mold in the facility. I can go on and on but all I get in response is "its a private prison". What does that got to do with the treatment of the inmates? Why doe DOC and MSP give them funding if they are private, why isn't the place cleaned to give inmates a healthy environment, why aren't they issued new prison new clothing as stated in the contract? Why, Why Why????
