D P Doors & Millwork

We used DP Doors for our addition and remodel. A bit complicated in two separate colors of stain as well as sizes/styles. The sales rep there was great to work with and helped us in picking out colors, wood species, and styles. Super high quality finish, looks like furniture. DP Doors was able to supply all the base trim, window trim, door trim, doors, shiplap for interior, and all the exterior tongue and groove - one stop shop! The best part was when we ran short on some material due to our changes in the project, they were timely and effectively matched colors to the batch from 2+ months prior!

Terrible place to work. Managers dont know how to cooperate with workers. So much drama and definitely not enough pay.

This veteran family is NOT impressed. Unfortunately DP doors and specifically Dave Venema our sales guy there, did NOT do well for our order. We ordered 4 doors, as we did a complete remodel of our new house one of which is our front door to our home . After discussing with Dave options and selecting the first three doors we went on to select a front door. He did give me his opinion from the get go that he recommends raised panel exterior doors for a front door due to them holding in heat better. So we look through the catalogue and I see the most beautiful shaker style front door Ive ever seen. I remember specifically telling him sorry Dave I know this isnt raised panel like you recommend but I REALLY want this door and he then went into total salesman mode about this door. He was like thats actually a great door regardless, its a storm door, its built to with stand North easters etc. he pointed out the square pegs in all the corners letting me know thats reinforcement for this door blah blah blah. There was zero discussions of ordering this door in a raised panel. Or any other configuration. In fact I was under the impression that this specific door was a stand alone product not one of a collection. We were literally ONLY talking about ONE door on one page of that catalogue. So of course in 2021 it takes about 4 months to receive your door order. The door shows up and its kind of similar but it has RAISED PANELS!!!! Its ugly and if I wanted an ugly door I would not have spent $3000 plus 10% mark up!!!! I immediately tell my contractor sorry thats not the door I ordered. He calls Dave and Dave tells him I dont recommend Shaker front doors, I dont order them, basically acts like our conversation never happened and Im some crazy homeowner who did not understand him. I tell my contractor to press him to take it back since I paid for a $3K door that I did not receive. He goes back to Dave and Dave offers to give us $500 ONE SIXTH the value of the expensive front door that we never asked for . And that we have the option to buy another brand spanking new shaker door the one we paid for in the first place for full price. FULL PRICE!!!!!! And he made it very clear that Dave had no other offers for us. So rather than give this company with aweful customer service more of our damn hard earned money we get to stare at an ugly door we never asked for and paid HANDSOMELY for!!! Id rather donate this expensive door to habitat than give these guys another penny of our money. I can own up to the fact that I over looked the sku number on the final order sheet. Which is more than Dave can say for this situation he owned up to NOTHING and took my money and said tough luck later when HE SCREWED it up. Again, I thought it was a standalone product! I saw Nantucket door on the sheet and I said GREAT thats my awesome door! So thanks Dave for offering us NOTHING to rectify an incorrect product that you caused. Its pretty sad that people have to stay on their toes so carefully at your company to catch your mistakes. Youre welcome for our business and our $8000 order. At least our contractor had the decency to offer to meet us half way which is a LOT more than you did.
