Yen's Chinese Food

Best Orange Chicken I've eaten in Springfield tell the owner's or staff changed the ingredients or something. I miss my Broccoli in my orange chicken with Steamed Rice along with the sweeter taste it had. Can anyone recommend me a Chinese place with orange chicken in Springfield? So far Panda Express has really good orange chicken but it's expensive for the little you get.

I have never liked chinese food. My husband loves chinese food, so when we go to the chinese place where we live for the buffet, all I eat is plain chicken, fries, and the donuts that they make. I was hesitant to try any chinese food, but when the ladies I worked with wanted chinese, I told them I would get something from Yen's (one of the ladies loves this place). I got the cashew chicken, which I've tried at other places and hated! I took the first bite and oh my goodness it was good!!!! Now I crave it all the time!

I arrived a bit before 6pm and the place is empty. Menu is on wall, rather large and amateurish in a somewhat charming way. Water is 25¢ for bottled water. Apparently no option for just a glass of ice water. Ordered Orange Chicken daily special. Portion is fairly meager. Fried rice is pretty good. Crab Rangoon are heavy on wonton and light on filling. The chicken is pretty good. The orange sauce is very good, not as goopy and over-thickened with corn starch as so many are. The sauce is probably the best part of the whole meal, which is as it should be. With all the Asian food in Springfield, I doubt I'll be rushing back but the food surpassed my expections given how humble the storefront is.
