A disgraceful display of governmental incompetence. The left hand doesn't know the right hand exists at the coroner's office. Pure arrogance from another Greene County incompetent staff. Meanwhile........they keep taking our tax dollars. Shame on you Dr. Vanderburg. The citizens/taxpayers/your bosses deserve better.

My sister-in-law was killed in a car accident Aug. 4, 2017. Evidently her body was taken to the Medical Examiner's office. When we went to Greenlawn North to make funeral arrangements the next day, we were told they weren't sure if it would be possible to have an open casket service due to her injuries. I called the funeral home late in the afternoon on August 7 to ask if they had made a determination yet. I was then told her body was at the medical examiners and was scheduled to be sent to Columbia for an autopsy on August 8. It would not be back until August 10! The family was in shock. NO ONE had requested, authorized or been notified of an autopsy. There is so much more , but the bottom line is she had been in the morgue for 4 days, and nothing had been done. It was heartbreaking for us.

This is a corrupt office since MU took over. Dr Jeff Harkey can be found blowing cases in Illinois on the Charles Smith Blog ..then look for Jeff Harkey and see for your self..Speaking of Blowing..He got rid of a 35 year employee so he could have his "meth queen" come work with him..
