Friendly staff, convenient location. I went in for a free initial screening offered by Southwestern Hearing and my insurance company. I was in and out very quickly.

I received my new hearing aids at the 318 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Saint Peters location. No stone was left unturned by the hearing specialist. Its operation, fine tuning, operation, functionality were explained clearly to me. Having never worn hearing aids before, it took a little practice putting them on but now all is well.
Playing the trumpet was an issue where the sound became harsh, like the wrinkling of aluminum foil as an example. The best solution for me was to set the VOLUMN to zero so no sound was amplified. When not playing my trumpet, the volume was set to my level and the memory setting was set back to the NORMAL mode. My hearing aid has different modes for various environments.

Final 30 Day Test
As it turned out, the hearing aids really didnt help that much so I returned them. Halfway through the hearing test, I heard background noise, thinking that was part of the test. As I found out, the air conditioner came on and I suspect the sound adversely affected my testing results. That might have affected my problem with understanding certain words.
My word comprehension for that test was around 60% and was told the hearing aids would increase my word comprehension to about 80%. Concerned about my 60% comprehension, I then went to a different hearing company who performed a similar hearing test. Amazingly, my word comprehension was 92% and that was without hearing aids! Needless to say, hearing aids for me at this point would not help much.
Regardless, Southwestern Hearing Center deserves a three star rating but next time, please redo the test when the air conditioner comes on halfway through the testokay?

The ladies there were amazing! Great customer service over the phone. Then they made sure that I was comfortable and educated throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend this location!
