Incredible service and food! Out standing hand made pastas and fresh from farm food. Servers are educated and well trained. Great service every time I am there. Hidden gem in the city. You won't be disappointed.

We had dined at Stellina's several times in the past although not in almost a year. What a disappointment last night. I received one of the worst Margaritas I've had anywhere and when the bar tried to correct it, it was slightly better tasting, still rather bad. The Wild Mushroom soup was awful and more the texture of a stew than a soup, the pulled pork sandwich dried out and the salted caramel ice cream (delicious taste, terrible texture), served in a small glass topped by over-whipped cream to the consistency of butter, was so soupy my friend ended up drinking it. We had to ask for clean coffee cups as the ones brought to us already filled with coffee were dirty inside and out. The sun blasted in the through the un-shaded front door facing west with the full force of the setting sun showing a badly streaked and rather dirty glass door. . . which I guess thankfully filtered out some of the harsh sunlight. Our table had one corner top which was either badly burned or water damaged and somewhat warped and as it was just my partner and I sitting at a four-top, we were able to maneuver around the unsightly area, although it seems the table should have been pulled from use until the top was repaired from whatever was the damage. Service was far too casual and bordered on being non-existent. My friend is very kind though, and he left a 20 percent tip on our $59 bill. I would not have been so kind and I always tip well even for average service Stellina. What happened? The beautiful "little star" has faded considerably. The constellation of restaurants in St. Louis is far too vast and too good, to revisit this one.

Went there tonight for date night, wanted to try a new local place, and this was recommended by my Google Now Card on my Nexus tablet. Appetizers were OK. Hummus & Olive plate was excellent; curried sweet potato soup was not advertised as hot but was quite spicy...more so than the curry would warrant. Some warning here might have been good. I had a Big Salad, which was big and good. Deb had lasagna, which was...odd. First off, it was waaaayyyy to salty, probably from the prosciutto and what seemed like canned artichoke hearts. Second, the artichoke hearts also gave the dish a strange taste...slightly off. Either that or the portion sat in the chiller way to long and was freezer burned. So, food was just OK. Prices were fair. Service wasn't bad, but wasn't that attentive either. Oh well. We tried a new place. Probably won't go back.
