I am typically a Home Depot girl. I don't dislike Menards but the slanted escalator gives me extreme anxiety and the lack of diversity in the store is not too great either. Home Depot couldn't help me with something as simple as cutting a piece of wood in half and they were rude and wasted 45 minutes of my time so, I went to Menards. Not only was I helped by Jermel Howard but the service was outstanding. I'm a Menards girl now.

During the snowstorm yesterday a 16 year old got into a car accident in front of my home. I went out to assist him, and the first thing he did after we called the police was call Menards to tell them he would miss his shift - his car was stuck on top of a fire hydrant and couldn't be moved until the weather let up. The woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude to him. She just said him missing work was a problem for her amd he needed to figure it out. She didn't ask if he was OK or express any concern. Just told him to call back when he figured out if he could get a ride. It was appalling treatment of a respectful kid who was just in his first accident and was trying to do his best. If this is how Menards treats their employees, I will never be shopping here again.
