Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I

This is probably the worst Patrol division in the state of Missouri. However Sunday / Monday, April 24th and 25th the whole state of Missouri from the Arkansas / Missouri state line was lacking. My daughter broke down near Cuba Missouri on i-44. She sat on the side of the road for 6 hours waiting for someone to come from Arkansas for her. On my drive there I did not see one highway patrol officer out doing his job patrolling the highway. On the way back, I saw one officer who was attending an accident near springfield. You guys need to get out and do your jobs. Patrol the highways. What if someone in these broken down cars---not just my daughter but other cars who were sitting out along that highway, we're seriously injured or suffered medical emergencies? After I picked my daughter up and got her home safely, and went back with a truck and a friend to tow my car home, there still was not any signs an officer had stopped such as a warning ticket or parking ticket etc. A sheriff's officer who did happen to stop while we were there the second time was very nice and did assist us in pushing the car up on the ramp. When I mentioned to him about the lack of Patrol the previous evening night he said oh yes they were out here they just didn't stop. If people are paying taxes and supporting fundraisers and supporting your department to your job and take care of your people

My friend spoke to Master Sargent Shawn Altermatt badge #158 and he was very rude when we asked him about the discrepancies in the ticket and shaking the ticket in my face saying what else you got ? What else you got?. We just moved here from Florida and were genuinely confused and just wanted some questions answered. We have Florida tags and feel like we were targeted. When proven to him by an app that the ticket was incorrect is tone changed dramatically and seemed worried. The worst experience with state troopers i have ever had. Something needs to be done because that is unacceptable.

I just wanted to say Thank You to Corporal Ice. This man has a humongous heart and love for people. I was stranded on the side of the highway on Friday night. Not only did he answer the call he went above and beyond to make sure my children and I were not left stranded on the side of the highway. This officer was very gentle and very helpful, I have never had such a great encounter with any officer like I did with him. I am so very grateful for him and his love that he shared with my children and I. After he changed out a few fuses for me, had my children and I towed off the side of the highway, followed behind us to make sure we got where we needed to go, two days of running up and down the highway, replacing a starter lol this turned out to be the culprit . Thank you Corporal Ice for your dedication.
